From the Principal's Desk

Hello Little Viking Families,

I can't believe it's May! We are in the final weeks of school, yet we are as busy as can be! Please review the upcoming dates below so you know what days have a change in our typical daily schedule (testing/field trips/celebrations).

Next week, we are completing our Spring iReady benchmark assessments. I am so excited to see how much our students have learned this year. Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast, gets a good night's sleep, and arrives on time to school to do their best on these end of year tests! Results will be shared with families in the final weeks of school.

Next week is also teacher appreciation week! Thank you to FTC for organizing a week of celebrating our teachers! Thank you to all of our families who have donated or plan to donate items. To see how you can join in on the fun in little or big ways, check out FTC's celebration week schedule below for ways your students can celebrate their teachers everyday next week.

Upcoming Field Trips/Dates:

Wednesday 5/7 - ACES Day Field Trip (All Kids Exercise Simultaneously). AMPK, Kindergarten and 1st grade will be bussed over to our district school, Stella Mat Swartz Elementary in the morning for a combined walk and some much needed playground time! Permission slips were sent home today!

Wednesday 5/14 - P2 End of year celebration. We will have an all school popcorn/movie gathering to watch "The Lion King" which reinforces so many of the character traits we learned about this year!

Tuesday 5/27 - Clap Out Field Trip. Each year we take an in house field trip to AMS to surprise the 8th graders after their graduation practice. We line their path with all their former teachers and younger students from the district to celebrate their accomplishments! (Because of timing, this does not include PreK).

Thursday 5/29 - K/1st Annual Zoo Field Trip

Friday 5/30 - PreK Step Up Day *OFFSITE THIS YEAR* - Due to construction and parking constraints, our PreK Step Up Day is going to be moved to the Heritage Center of the Oakbrook Terrace Park District. PK students do rehearse at school leading up to step up day and siblings will get the opportunity to watch their dress rehearsal earlier in the week.

Monday 6/2 - Field Day - Students will enjoy field day activities on our last full day of school!

Tuesday 6/3 - Last day of school (10:50am dismissal)

Have a great weekend everyone,

-Mrs. Scanlan

I Love U Guys ❤️ I Love U Guys ❤️

Standard Response Protocol

Salt Creek District 48 has adopted an emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.

Payments & Fees Payments & Fees

In your parent portal in skyward, click on the fee payment tile, then in the far right hand top corner click on the "make online payments" button. This will take you to Revtrak. Make sure to sign up before you try to make payment. Once you can sign in, click the Make a Payment button in the middle of the page. This new service will streamline the payments so you can make a payment or set up recurring payments. This is directly connected to Skyward so you see the money immediately go to your child's account. If you have any questions please email or call your school office.

Preschool Payments: Once in Revtrak you will see in the upper right area an arrow next to SHOP. Click the arrow and pick Preschool in order for you to complete your payment. If you have any questions please email or call the Salt Creek school office.
