St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER |WEEK 9 TERM 1 2026
As we arrive at the end of Term 1, we also find ourselves in the heart of the most sacred time of the Christian year. Today the Church marks Holy Thursday, tomorrow we enter the solemnity of Good Friday, and on Sunday we celebrate the great joy of Easter – the Resurrection of Jesus.
For us as Christians, Easter is the foundation of our hope. We believe that through His death and Resurrection, Jesus conquered death and opened the way for all of us to experience new life in Him. The Easter story reminds us that even in moments of difficulty, disappointment or darkness, renewal and hope are always possible. It is a message that sits at the heart of our school community and the way we seek to care for and support one another each day.
As this term draws to a close, I would like to sincerely thank our students, families and staff for a wonderful Term 1. It has been a term marked by cooperation, kindness, goodwill and a shared commitment to making our school a place where every child can grow and flourish. The partnership between home and school continues to be one of our greatest strengths, and we are very grateful for your ongoing engagement and support.
Over the coming days many families will enjoy the fun of unwrapping and eating some delicious chocolate Easter eggs. Alongside the laughter and treats, it can also be a great opportunity to pause, gather our children and help them reflect with gratitude on the many blessings in their lives - including their faith, their family, their friends, their healthy bodies, our wonderful school, all the special opportunities they are given each day and so much more. Developing a spirit of gratitude is a powerful buffer against stress, anxiety, depression and a, gentle remedy that heals and connects.
May the Easter season bring you all peace, joy and despite all that is going on in the world, a renewed sense of hope.
This holiday break will be an opportunity for us to get a number of jobs completed throughout the school from a capital and maintenance perspective. It is going to be a very busy few weeks and I hope that when you return, there will be lots to celebrate!
We wish all our families a safe and restful Easter break, we also hope that the Eagles continue their amazing winning streak and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for a fantastic Term 2.
All the best and safe travels.
Regards
Geordie

In the Catholic tradition, our parish and school are closely connected.
The parish, led by Father Giovanni, provides spiritual leadership and is responsible for ensuring we nurture students’ faith alongside academic learning. The school supports the parish by helping children grow in Catholic values, preparing them for sacraments, and encouraging family participation in parish life.
It’s essentially a partnership — the parish is the faith community, and the school is one of its key ministries. For more information about our Parish, please click here:
