Taylors Falls Parents For Education
- Our No-Fuss Fundraiser kicks off TODAY! Students will be bringing home a flyer with all of the info, but you can take a sneak peek and start spreading the word here. School-wide prizes are listed on the back of the flyer, including a new fun final reward: Mr. Riebe is going camp out in the Gaga Ball Pit! Please help your kiddo talk to at least five people about our fundraiser, cut off the slip on the front of the flyer, sign it, and have your student bring it to the office to pick out a new 3D pet!
- Our first pop tab collection day was this Tuesday, October 6th, and students brought in almost 87 pounds of aluminum to be recycled! You can check out our grade leaderboard here. Next collection day is November 3rd!
- We still need a few contributions to our teacher Conference Dinners! Check out our Build-Your-Own Sandwich and Baked Potato Bar sign-ups to see how you can help us compete these meals!

Halloween
TFE will be observing Halloween on Friday, October 30st.
We will have our annual progressive costume parade at 2:30 on October 30th.
Shopping for a Halloween costume? We want Halloween to be fun, not scary, and we have children as young as three in our school. Here are some guidelines we're asking you to observe so everybody can enjoy the day:
No gore: Blood, guts, eyeballs hanging out, etc.
Costumes should be in good taste and appropriate for our young school community.
PLEASE don't send your child to school with an inappropriate costume. They will be required to change, and that's no fun for the student or Mr. Riebe!!
No weapons of any kind should be brought to school- even fake weapons that are accessories to a costume (e.g. ninja swords, ray guns, battle axes, etc).
No face paint or hair coloring spray- the custodians will already have a monumental cleaning task after the class parties!
Book Fair
The Book Fair is here next week!
Make sure your kid won’t miss out on the most highly anticipated books of the season!
Preorder your copy now through our school’s Book Fair homepage. Use code FAIRSHIP for free shipping to your home.
SAVE THE DATE for Monday, October 12-Wednesday, October 14 and start exploring together: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/taylorsfallselementarysch
Testing
Students in grades 2-5 will be taking a social-emotional screener called mySAEBRS. mySAEBERs has 20 questions and takes about 3-5 minutes for students to complete. Your child’s answers will be used to help teachers select topics for their classroom morning meeting, as well as identify students that may need extra support. Your child will be completing this screener the week of October 19th during their computer lab time. If you have questions about this screening tool, please contact Maddison Nordquist at 651-213-2133.
If you do NOT want your child to participate in this screening, please sign and return the parent opt-out letter by October 12th.

This voluntary program is available to all students, regardless of income. It will be handled discreetly and confidentially. If you are interested, please fill out this Google form. Anyone may join this program at any time during the school year.
