Dear CMIT South Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are excited and honored to begin this year with each of you. The first days of school are always filled with fresh energy, new possibilities, and the promise of growth for our students and community.
At CMIT South, we are committed to making this a year of excellence—where every student is seen, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential. Our themes this year, “Mission STEM Possible: Every Student, Every Day, No Exception” and “Level Up: Every Student, Every Lesson, Every Day”, reflect our shared dedication to ensuring that each scholar not only learns but thrives.
Behind the scenes, our leadership team, teachers, and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for a strong start. From classrooms to hallways, to programs and supports, everything has been designed to give our students the best possible experience. Parents and families, thank you for being essential partners in this journey—your involvement makes all the difference.
This year, let’s continue to dream big, support one another, and celebrate the wins—both big and small—that our students achieve. We look forward to seeing you at school events, cheering on our Tigers, and working together to make this our best year yet.

Reminders & Upcoming Events
Student Arrival/Dismissal
School building opens: 8:20 a.m.
Instruction begins: 8:35 a.m.
Dismissal begins: 2:50 p.m.
Please ensure your scholar arrives on time daily, as attendance is key to academic success.
For dismissal, follow the directions of PG Police and CMIT South staff so we can get students to families safely and efficiently. Students must remain in the school parking lot—no meeting transportation providers on the street or alley. Parents should not drive through the alley to pick up or drop off students.
Technology Plan
Students must bring a Google Chromebook to and from school daily.
All students must submit a Technology Usage Agreement Form by August 30, 2025. [Click here to complete the form.]
Limited rentals are available for $100 per school year. If needed, complete the Chromebook Rental Application. [Click here to complete the form.]
Free & Reduced Lunch Applications
PGCPS will no longer provide free meals for all students. Families must reapply yearly for free/reduced-price meals based on income and household size. If you already received an eligibility notice, no application is required.

Picture Day
High School: Monday, September 15, 2025
Middle School: Tuesday, September 16, 2025
Students must wear their White CMIT Oxford shirts (also required for field trips and special events). Please secure these uniforms as soon as possible.
Back-to-School Night
High School: Monday, September 15, 2025
Middle School: Tuesday, September 16, 2025
Time: 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to meet the CMIT South staff and learn about our vision for the year. Please bring your scholar or their schedule. Sign-up links will be shared soon.
Back-to-School Block Party
Join us for an evening of fun with the entire CMIT South MS/HS community! Enjoy games, music, food, and activities for the whole family. Please note: all students must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event.

Welcome Back, Tigers!
We hope everyone had a restful, fun, and memorable summer! We’re excited to announce that High School Fall Sports are officially back! Our Boys Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, and brand-new Flag Football teams have been working hard in daily practices to prepare for the season. Cheerleading kicks off next week on September 4th!
Don’t forget: all student-athletes must register for sports through Aktivate. And be sure to show your Tiger Pride by grabbing some gear from our CMIT South School Spirit Store
