Glow Party in the Library!
As part of the Halloween season, our library was transformed into a Glow Party for the students. They were able to find secret messages with glow pens, read in the dark with a flashlight and make bookmarks under black light. The students celebrated a different way to read, and had a great time!
Welcome Back Elder Viola!
As part of our ongoing commitment to the path of Truth and Reconciliation, Stonybrook is excited to welcome Elder Viola Plett back to our school regularly this year to connect with our students and share her knowledge about different areas of Indigenous culture and heritage. Elder Viola is from Treaty Territory, Lake Manitoba, and is a Sixties Scoop survivor, who now lives in the Landmark area. Her first visit to some SMS classes will be on Monday, November 2 and she will meet with different classes a couple of times each month throughout the school year.

Grade 8 Jazz Band has begun! Jazz band is open to all current Grade 8 band students, and participating students will need their parent permission forms signed. Students are invited to attend one, two, or all three of the following times weekly:
- Mondays from 3:45-4:45pm
- Thursdays from 12:10-1:05pm
- Fridays from 8:15-8:55am
