Weekly Family Communication
Principal's Message
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
Come, Holy Spirit! As we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost this weekend and bring our Easter Season to a close, calling upon the Holy Spirit feels especially fitting. This is an extraordinarily busy time of year, and I think we could all use a generous outpouring of the Spirit’s grace!
Tomorrow we dive into Field Day, and soon after we begin the joyful process of graduating our 8th‑grade students. These next few weeks will move quickly, and before we know it, summer break will be here. What a perfect moment for Pentecost — a reminder that God’s Spirit renews, strengthens, and guides us right when we need it most.
As we enter Memorial Day Weekend, I hope you find time for rest and reflection as we honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love!
In Christ,
Anna

Need Volunteer Hours?
If you're still in need of general volunteer hours, the campus has weeding that needs to be done in preparation for summer break and this weekend is a great time to do it! This is a flexible volunteer opportunity you can complete as your schedule permits. Areas include the whole campus, including the raised areas outside of the preschool
Counselor Out
Our counselor Kelly Dobelstein is on medical leave through the end of the school year. We are here to help in her absence. Students in grades K-5, please reach out to Miss Finney (vfinney@holyrosaryws.org). Students in grades 6-8, please reach out to Mr. Mohrbacher (tmohrbacher@holyrosaryws.org).
Faith At Home
🔥 Pentecost – The Holy Spirit is with us!
As we celebrate Pentecost, we remember the moment the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom, and joy. Often called the “birthday of the Church,” Pentecost reminds us that we are never alone—God’s Spirit is alive and active in each of us ✨
The same Spirit that guided the Apostles is with our families today—helping us make good choices, show kindness, and live out our faith with confidence.
💛 Things to do as a family
- 🔴 Wear red to Mass (symbol of the Holy Spirit and fire!)
- 🙏 Say a simple prayer together: “Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts. Amen"

Notes & Reminders
Lunch Reminder
Hi families! Just a friendly reminder to please double-check your child’s lunch schedule each day. We’ve recently had an increase in students arriving without lunches, or not on the hot lunch list and we want to make sure everyone is prepared and ready for a great day. Thank you for your help and support!
Used Uniforms
Closet bursting at the seams? Ours is. We’ve got an overstock of gently used uniforms looking for their next adventure—perfectly good pieces that deserve a second life instead of another day on the hanger. Think of it as a uniform treasure hunt where the price is right and the options are plenty.
If your wardrobe could use a refresh (or you just love a good find), Arlo is your guide to the good stuff. Reach out at arlowyn.i@gmail.com and she will help you track down your perfect uniform pieces before they disappear back into the closet abyss. Truth be told, we need the extra hangers!
Action Items
Volunteer Hours Due May 31st
A reminder that volunteer hours must be submitted by May 31st under your Parent Portal account. Volunteer hours that are scheduled for June (Baccalaureate Dinner or 8th grade graduation as examples) can be estimated and submitted by the May 31st deadline. Incomplete volunteer hours will be charged ($50/hour) in June.
Library Books
Calling all library books! All Holy Rosary School Library books are due back no later than May 29th. Please help your student look for missing books in backpacks, bedrooms, and around the house. Overdue notices will be given to students with overdue books on Friday.
Thank you for supporting the HRS Library.
Bike To School Month
Bike to School Month is rolling full speed ahead, and the Gators are crushing it.
🚴♂️ BIKE TO SCHOOL MONTH IS IN FULL SWING!
More than 30 students every day are showing up on bikes, scooters, and on foot. That’s a whole parade of wheels and sneakers powering into school. Way to go, Gators — you’re unstoppable!
🏡 “But I live too far away…”
🚌 “But I take the bus…”
No problem at all — you can still join the fun.
If you can’t bike, scoot, or walk to school, just do it after school. Get outside for at least 15 minutes of riding, scooting, or walking once you’re home. It totally counts.
Have an adult sign your calendar or write a note, bring it in the next day, and grab your raffle ticket for the chance for weekly prizes.
We also need volunteers to help cheer on and count bikers/scooters/walkers, hand out raffle tickets, and help students lock their bikes up every morning throughout the month.
Sign up for one (or more!) days HERE. 7th and 8th graders are also welcome to volunteer as well.
2026-27 BASE
We wanted to share that BASE for the 2026-27 School year is very full after completing the re-enrollment period for current BASE families.
Knowing that there is a great need in our community for before- and- after school care, we invite families to get on the BASE Wait List. Our hope is that there might be some movement over the next few months and BASE could accommodate some families who are still in need of care for the next school year.
Please complete the application form to get on the Waitlist: https://forms.gle/5EzSDL57X2EtFhcf7.
Crossing Guard Duty
Holy Rosary School is hiring for a before/after school crossing guard, to assist with crossing students in front of the school and in high traffic areas. If your schedule allows for this, and you are interested in discussing what this employment might look like (an hour to an hour and a half/day), please reach out to Principal Anna Horton (ahorton@holyrosaryws.org).
