NEWSLETTER / TERM 2/ Week 8/Friday 12th June
Message From Miss Melanie
The term is quickly coming to an end and our NAIDOC Week activities are being carefully planned for a fantastic final week of Term 2. Thank you to our NAIDOC Team for the time that is going into organising all the fun activities for the week.
Fundraising through our Colour Fun Run has started. A special acknowledgement to Sean (Yr 2) for an awesome video he created with his family to support his fundraising goals, we have shared this video to support our fundraising goal of $10,000 for 2026.
I would like to thank our families who have supported our playground upgrade for the past few years. I understand that for some families it appears that we have not used the funds raised but please be assured that all monies raised are being banked. Unfortunately the cost of the equipment is a lot (approx $48000) and this is before installation, we have also had to prepare the area with more appropriate borders to ensure new sand isn't washed away during our wet season. We are hoping that we will be able to purchase the equipment in Term 3, with the aim of it being installed for the start of Term 4 2026. We will update families once our fun run donations have been finalised.
We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to our families regarding attendance. I am proud to say that our whole school attendance average is over 80% and this can only be achieved with the ongoing support of our families to ensure that children arrive at school on time each day. Once again THANK YOU.
God Bless.
Miss Melanie
Rejoicing Religion
Miss Di has been very busy in the Religion space this term, firstly organising our Baptism event and now Reconciliation. Next week will see some of our students participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Fr Bryan. The sacrament is quietly supported with Fr Bryan meeting individually with each student on the school grounds during our usual school day. For all families involved, Miss Di has sent information regarding the details.
Year 1 Assembly and Merit Certificates
Thank you to the amazing Year 1 class for an energetic assembly item on Friday 12th June. Miss Brooke and Miss Lesley prepared the students well and they performed with strong voices and dynamic actions.
Congratulations to our merit certificate students for hard work and dedication to their learning.

Medical Plans
If your child has a medical plan please ensure when updated with your GP that a copy is provided to Admin. Staff are not permitted to administer medication without a plan and can only administer using plans supplied to the school (even if outdated).
For students with Asthma, it is essential that their plan is current and students MUST carry a personal asthma inhaler and spacer to support their condition. The Asthma Foundation and CEWA encourages inhaler use ONLY through a spacer as this is the most effective way to deliver the medication to the lungs. If your child is an asthmatic please ensure these items are supplied in your child's school bag.
Icy Pole Fundraiser
We are still selling icy poles on Fridays to support our playground fundraising. If you would like your child to have an icy pole please send them with $1.00 on Fridays.
Colour Fun Run
Our fundraising has commenced and our aim this year is $10000. Our actual fun run will take place on Friday 7th August between recess and lunch. We will provide a sausage sizzle lunch afterwards and all families will be able to order with the cost of lunch $2 per person to add to our fundraising goal. Anyone who would like to volunteer on the day are asked to let Miss Jenna know, either to help with the set up, running of a colour station or cooking lunch.
Book Club
The latest Scholastic book orders are closing soon, get in quick so you don't miss out.
School Uniform
A reminder that students are expected to wear their school uniform each day. Uniform items are available from Admin. Families who would like to purchase royal blue skorts, can do so from Best and Less in Broome or online as the school will not be supplying this item.
SHOES: A reminder that students from Years 1 - 6 are expected to wear sandals with a back or sneakers. Crocs and slip on shoes are NOT permitted at school for safety reasons.
