NBHS Updates

Pretzels are getting ready for Spring!

Week of March 17th:

The New Berlin High School Spanish Dual Credit classes had the opportunity to go on a field trip to see two unforgettable and culturally rich performances in Decatur on Friday, March 14th at the Decatur Civic Center. Both shows, the Latin Iberian Show and Fusion Latino Flamenco, explored the culture and history of music and dance from Latin America and Spain. Both shows allowed students to participate at the end. The students really enjoyed the trip!

Ms. Kennedy's Spanish III and IV students taught Ms. Burke's 6th grade class yesterday. Spanish III taught about March madness, and Spanish IV taught about Saint Patrick's Day and why it's celebrated in Mexico. They both created engaging lessons. The 6th grade students had a great time learning a little español.

18th - NBHS FFA members Isaac Bauman and Olivia Loving dressed up as bacon for the Illinois Pork Producers Bacon Bash 2025

Week of March 24th - Spring Break

25th - The NBHS FFA hosted a Chicken Dinner Fundraiser for the Britz Family from the Tri-City Area due to the loss of their home to a devastating fire on March 5th.

30th NBHS FFA held their annual banquet at the Sangamon County Fairgrounds. Congratulations to all of the members and their accomplishments this year! Shout out to Ms. Weidhuner for an excellent job on coordinating everything and recognizing our students, alumni, and honored guests! Follow our NBHS FFA Facebook Page to keep up to date on events and our Chapter's Accomplishments: New Berlin FFA is the Facebook Page. I will have updates to post later this week of specific awards and recognition of the newly installed officers!

What is 211?

With approximately 1.5 million nonprofit organizations in the United States plus scores of

government agencies, finding help can be confusing and intimidating. People who need help

often do not know where to begin.

211 call centers are staffed by trained specialists who quickly assess the callers’ needs and

refer them to the help they seek. It’s simple to remember, accessible to everyone, toll-free,

available 24/7, with multilingual capabilities.

211 in Sangamon and Menard County is funded by United Way of Central Illinois. By bringing

this service to the community, especially at a time when more individuals and families need

health and human service support, United Way is fulfilling its mission of mobilizing resources to

meet community needs.
