It's finally February!
The month of January was at least 47 days long, so I am sure we are all thrilled to see it officially end! I hope this new month brings sunshine (despite what the groundhog said) and healthy students. Thank you for your diligence in following our school policies regarding sickness. Please know we are doing extra disinfecting in the building in hopes of minimizing the spread of all the germs!

Valentine Parties will begin at 2:00 on Thursday February 13th.

If you haven't stumbled upon it just yet we now have our very own Elementary Facebook page. My hope for this page is that it will highlight the amazing things happening in our elementary. K-3 Kiddos
Our 5th and 6th grade student council is hosting a snack and sip fundraiser for our k-3 students. They plan to do this one Friday a month near the end of the school day.

Smithton Cares
How are your New Year's Resolutions going? Need a redo? Why not try to do something different? Maybe try Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Reduce by trying a bar soap, bar shampoo, or bar dish soap instead of a bottle. Reuse by finding ways to repurpose some of your trash either by composting or repackaging. Recycle by collecting your milk jugs and sending them to the school or taking your used grocery/Wal-mart sacks to the store drop-off. Just pick one, give it a shot and see where it goes. So far our school has collected over 360 milk jugs and the cafeteria has recycled over 1000 1 gallon tin cans! Smithton Cares!
