Principal's Message
March is Reading Month — Let’s Go Camping!
March has arrived, and we are ready to “camp out” with some great books! Our March is Reading Month theme this year is CAMPING, and our classrooms are already pitching their tents and diving into reading adventures. From cozy campfire stories to exploring new literary trails, students will be strengthening their skills while building a lifelong love of reading.
We hope you’ll join us for our Reading & Math Night on March 3rd from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.! This special evening will be filled with engaging activities that support both literacy and numeracy in fun, interactive ways. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect as a school community while celebrating learning together.
As we head into the final stretch before spring break, consistent attendance is especially important. Each school day builds on the one before it, and being present ensures students don’t miss valuable instruction or special March activities. Thank you for continuing to prioritize daily attendance and on-time arrival.
Thank you for partnering with us as we “hike” toward strong reading growth this month. We are grateful for your support and look forward to a fantastic March together!

Computational Thinking
Computational Thinking at Linden Elementary
Computational thinking is a way of solving everyday problems. The strategies help students become organized thinkers, confident problem solvers, and flexible learners.
Students have been seeing visuals around the building highlighting the four parts of Computational Thinking: Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstraction, and Algorithmic Design. During the winter months, one of our main focuses was Algorithmic Design—writing step-by-step directions. We practiced by outlining the steps for getting dressed in winter gear.
As the seasons change, try this at home by asking your child to explain the steps for packing a backpack, brushing teeth, or getting ready for spring weather. It’s a simple way to connect school learning to everyday life.
Teacher Requests
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, please know that we take great care in creating balanced and supportive class lists for all students. Many factors are thoughtfully considered in this process, including academic needs, learning styles, social dynamics, and overall classroom composition. While we truly value parent input as one piece of information in understanding your child, we are not accepting specific teacher or placement requests for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to ensure equitable, well-balanced classrooms where every child can thrive, and we appreciate your trust in our professional judgment and commitment to your child’s success.
