Why You Should Join Us

The second half of the year is always our busiest and most rewarding. Whether you’ve been to every meeting or have never attended one before, your voice matters!

  • Bring a Friend, Win a Prize: We are looking to grow our community! If you bring a friend who hasn't attended a meeting yet this year, both of you will be entered into a drawing for a gift card.

  • Refreshments Provided: We’ll have a snacks and drinks available to keep you energized while we chat.

  • Get the Inside Scoop: Hear firsthand about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and how we are supporting our students and teachers this spring.

We can’t wait to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. See you in the library!

PTO Member Spotlight: Julia Parnell

Our PTO is only as strong as its volunteers, and this month, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Julia Parnell.

If you’ve attended a meeting or an event this year, you’ve likely seen Julia’s smiling face. She has been a constant presence in our PTO, offering fresh ideas and working side-by-side with us to plan and execute the activities our students love. Whether she is behind the scenes organizing or on the ground supporting students during event days, Julia’s dedication is unmatched.

When asked why she chooses to give so much of her time to the Washington District PTO, Julia shared:

"I know how important it is for parents to be involved in their kids' schooling. It makes a world of difference. I also love the school and Westmoreland, and I enjoy working with the teachers, administration, and the PTO to make it a safe, fun, learning environment for the kids."

Julia has participated in every single event we’ve hosted this year, and her efforts have been a driving force in reestablishing our PTO within the building. We are so lucky to have her as an asset to our school community.

Thank you, Julia, for everything you do!
