Dear DMS Families,

We hope everyone had a great week. It is hard to believe that we are only one week away from our February vacation. As a reminder, school vacation will take place from February 17th to February 21st, and we will resume on February 24th.

As we move into next week, we will finish our basketball season. Both teams finished with a win in their last home game this past Wednesday, and the season will officially end this Monday in Somerset. Thank you to our 8th grade students for their leadership throughout the season, as well as to our four coaches for a job well done. Winter seasons can be challenging with darkness and cold weather, but their dedication to both teams is commendable. Baseball and softball season are right around the corner, and you will find the sign- up links below.

Also, and as a reminder, our annual Winter Wonderland will take place on Thursday, February 13th. Winter Wonderland is a fun after school event put on by our Student Government. It is a time for students to relax with friends and engage in a variety of fun activities. Further details can be found below regarding this event, including grade level pick- up information.

Don't forget to also order your child a t-shirt for the PTO sponsored Color Run this Spring at DMS.

Below you will also find repeat information on ordering a DMS Yearbook and volunteering for our Spring Career Day, as well as the February Wellness Newsletter, and various fliers from the community.

January Students of the Month can also be found below, as they were nominated for their collaboration with peers each day, one of the skills set out in our district's Portrait of a Graduate. Also, and as a correction from last month, December Students of the Month were nominated for showing that DMS Lions ROAR by being Respectful of Themselves and Others, as is set by the DMS PBIS structure.

Have a great weekend!

Reminder to Families Reminder to Families

Dear DR Families,

As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!

We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.

Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Technology Repair Fees Technology Repair Fees

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:

  • Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
  • Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
  • Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300

We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!

In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
