Get ready, Plummer Middle School! Next week, May 4th – May 8th, we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with a vibrant New Orleans flair. This year’s theme is "Down in the Bayou," and we have a full lineup of spirit days to show our incredible educators how much we value their hard work and dedication.

We encourage every student to join the fun and dress up each day! Let’s fill the hallways with energy and school spirit as we honor the teachers who make Plummer a great place to learn.

Where’s... Your Library Book? 🔍

Have you seen it? Is it hiding behind a pile of laundry? Is it camouflaged under a bed or blending into a backpack?

Just like Waldo in the popular series, some of our library books have gone missing in the crowd! We need your help finding these "lost travelers" and getting them back to their home on the library shelves.

Your Mission:

  • Check Your Inbox: We’ve sent out "search party" emails to parents of students with outstanding items.

  • Search the House: If you see an email, help your student track down the missing title.

  • Return the Goods: Have your child drop the book off at the library media center—no questions asked!

Thank you for helping us keep our collection complete for all our readers. Happy hunting!

  • Eligibility: Open to all Aldine chess players in Elementary, Middle, and High School.

How to Register

Whether your student plays on a team or wants to enter as an individual, there is a spot at the board for them:

  • Teams: Chess teams should enter through their school coach.

  • Individuals: Individual registration can be completed by scanning the QR code found on the official event flyer.

Important: Permission Slips

Because this event is a school-sponsored field trip, all participating students must return a signed permission slip. Students can pick up their permission forms in the school library or directly from our Chess Sponsor, Mrs. Myers in Room 401.
