Your Voice Matters at MHS Your Voice Matters at MHS

Our campus survey is now open, and we truly need every family’s input.

The survey is a little longer this time, but your honest feedback helps us improve communication, strengthen programs, and better serve our students.

Please take a few minutes to complete it. Your voice directly impacts the direction of our campus.

💛 Capturing Kids’ Hearts Corner 💛 💛 Capturing Kids’ Hearts Corner 💛

February CKH Focus: Kindness in Action February CKH Focus: Kindness in Action

At Meridian High School, relationships matter.

Capturing Kids’ Hearts isn’t about one big event — it’s about daily interactions. It’s greeting students by name, checking in when something feels “off,” and creating classrooms where students know they belong.

🐝 What This Looks Like on Our Campus

  • Teachers continuing to build classroom agreements with students

  • Staff focusing on positive greetings and intentional check-ins

  • Encouraging respectful conversations, even when we disagree

  • Modeling accountability and ownership

We are working to strengthen consistency in how we respond, how we communicate, and how we support students — because our kids deserve that.

💬 A Small Ask for Families

This week, try asking:

  • “Who made you feel seen today?”

  • “Did you encourage anyone today?”

  • “What’s one thing you did well this week?”

Strong schools are built on strong relationships.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue growing — together.

Volunteer Opportunities

None at this time.

A fantastic idea from one of our parents: Meridian High is looking to launch a volunteer program—much like classroom moms but for our whole school! We’d love for parents or family members to help greet students, decorate hallways, make positive phone calls home, and support other school activities. This is a wonderful way to build connections and celebrate our students. Interested in joining the volunteer team or learning more? Let us know by filling out the form.

We will send out a monthly sign up sheet requesting volunteers for events happening at the school. Sign up for one or all. Anyone is welcome! Volunteer forms must be signed in order to participate during school hours.

🌟 Gold Stars: Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes

Every week, we’ll shine a little spotlight on moments—big and small—that make our campus stronger, kinder, and more connected. Gold Stars aren’t about titles or checklists; they’re about the heart and hustle we see in each other every day.

💡 Want to nominate someone for a Gold Star? Send me a quick note with their name and what they did. All shout-outs are not just welcome—they’re encouraged!

This week's Gold Star Nominations were (insert drum roll here):

CTE Teachers

Mrs. Beaudin nominated the CTE teachers. She said, "I'm so grateful for the out-of-the-box experiences our CTE teachers (Mr. Dagley, Mr. Pittman, Ms. Kuykendall, Mr. Gann and likely more...) & programs offer to students. These programs prepare kids for the future and instill a sense of pride through hard work and dedication. I'm so grateful for these classes & teachers! Looking forward to seeing our CTE programs expand in the future!"

Lyndsie Duke

Mrs. Duke was nominated anonymously. They said, "She’s an amazing teacher with the patience of a saint. She does an amazing job with the kids. She listens to them and knows that each kid needs something different to learn. She is the reason my son has excelled this year. She deserves all the recognition."
