HFRCS Newsletter September 16, 2025
Volume 5 Edition 2
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our school year has gotten off to a great start! Our Welcome Packet of back-to-school paperwork is 100% returned! Providing us with all the necessary and important paperwork this quickly is a tremendous success! THANK YOU! The return of the Emergency Information Record for our school nurse is at 93% completion. For those who haven’t returned this document, please do so asap. We intend to use the FACTS Family Portal for more posting and sharing of information moving forward. This portal is a safe and secure way to share important information that can only be accessed by school families.
Tomorrow is Picture Day! Forms were sent home last week but are attached to this newsletter for your convenience. Please send in your completed photo order form with your child. Students in Kindergarten through 7th grade should wear their regular school uniform. (NO GYM UNIFORMS) The 8th grade graduates should wear (or bring) their white button-down shirt, and boys also the tie.
This Friday, September 19, our Student Council is sponsoring a $1 dress down day. Please wear yellow or gold to help us support Childhood Cancer Awareness. Also on Friday, Our Home and School Association is sponsoring a Back-to-School Ice Cream Social and Gift Card Bingo evening beginning at 6:00 PM. More details can be found in this newsletter.
On Monday morning, our students in grades K-5 will have the opportunity to view the NED Show assembly. This year’s program, “Ned’s Resiliency Ride,” is a no-cost assembly that teaches children how to be resilient and bounce back when they face challenges and empowers them to become champions in school and in life. This is a “pay it forward” program and we will be selling a selection of NED messaged items – primarily yo-yo’s like the ones used in the assembly. In preparation for this sale, an order form is attached to this newsletter. The proceeds from our sale will enable another school to get a free NED program. In every NED program, the NED acronym is reinforced: Never Give Up, Encourage Others, Do your Best; a great message for all our students!
Mr. Walzer, our renowned and favorite music teacher is offering piano lessons to our students in 2nd through 8th grade. The fee for the trimester is $40. Small group lessons are held in the music room. Parents can register their child for piano lessons by completing the attached form by next Wednesday, September 24. Additionally, several teachers are available for after-school, before-school and evening tutoring. Please see the available days/times in this newsletter.
It was an absolute JOY to have so many of our parents join us for our opening of the school year Mass! Our safety procedures went very well, and I hope everyone felt comfortable in church. We will do all that is necessary so that our school community can continue to do what we do best – praise and thank God through the celebration of the Mass! Our safety protocols, which is a living document and will be updated as needed, has been posted in the FACTS Family Portal, and can be accessed under "School," then “Resource Documents.” Our next school Mass is Friday, October 3 where, after Mass, we will be installing our new Student Council officers and membership as well as our Safety Patrol. Please join us!
We are a family of FAITH! Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

From the Advancement & Business Offices
Outreach Effort for EDS Program
We need your help.
To possibly assist our school and families, Holy Family Regional is trying to qualify for a special tax credit program offered through the State of Pennsylvania.
The State recently increased funding for tax credits for the Economically Disadvantaged School Program (EDS). This program has the potential to increase the financial aid funding available to schools.
For the school to qualify, more than half of our student body in grades K-8 must qualify for Educational Improvement Tax Credits which is the EITC funding/financial aid offered through BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools). Many of our families have already completed a FACTS Grant & Aid (FGA) application and qualify for EITC funding.
In order to try to reach the 52% participation needed to qualify, we need to have more FGA applications.
We are asking families who have not yet completed a FACTS Grant & Aid application for 2025-2026 and have a student in kindergarten to 8th grade to take the time to do one. The application can be accessed through FACTS using the login information set up for your payment plan.
The eligible income limits are generous and are included below. If your family has not yet completed an FGA application and your household income (based on a 2023 or 2024 tax return) falls within the income levels listed, please complete an application.
Families who file a complete application and submit the required tax return, can get $500 per student if they meet the income eligibility guidelines.
Thank you to all the families who have already filed an application for this school year. You have helped us to get close to our goal of qualifying for this program next year.
