🌰 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
MGES Families,
🎃 Halloween Parade Reminders – Friday, October 31
We’re looking forward to celebrating our annual Halloween Parade! Here are a few important reminders:
-
Parking: Please use the gravel lot to park. The bus loop will be closed from 9:00–10:30 a.m. during the parade.
-
Weather: In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled. Unfortunately, there is no rain date for this event. Every effort will be made to hold the parade, and any weather-related decision will be communicated on parade day.
🐾 Furry Friends on School Grounds
If you don’t already know, I’m a huge fan of dogs—big and small! However, some of our Chipmunks can feel a bit nervous around them. If you’re bringing a dog onto school grounds, we kindly ask that you remain on the grassy areas surrounding the school and avoid walking along the K–2 car line sidewalk. Thank you for helping us keep all of our students comfortable and safe!
Warmest regards,
Mr. Perez

💡HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GLEN
📣Unity Day
This week Mrs. Hamilton visited K-5 classrooms to conduct a lesson focused on building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Students listened to an interactive read aloud of What Does It Mean to Be Kind? by Rana DiOrio. As an engaging and interactive extension, class buddies worked collaboratively to create a unity tree by brainstorming ways to show kindness in our MGES community.
Mrs. Hamilton was doing a guidance lesson with Mr. Bonner's kindergarten class and their 5th grade buddies from Mr. Pestridge's class. Students created "Unity Trees" to remind us of all the ways we can show kindness to others.

Halloween Parade
Maple Glen Elementary is excited to be able to invite families to our annual Halloween Parade!
Get Ready For The MGES Halloween Parade! Our Maple Glen staff is excited to host our Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 9:30 am! The parade will be held outside in our B-wing playground area and the front of the building.
A Few Important Reminders:
- We kindly ask that ALL costumes are easy to put on and take off, and not gruesome or violent (blood, weapons, etc).
- It is recommended that our younger students wear their costumes to school as long as students are able to comfortably move around in them (masks can only be worn during the parade). Teachers will provide students time to change out of their costumes after the parade.
- In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled. Unfortunately, there is no rain date for this event. Every effort to have a Parade will occur and this call will only be made on Parade Day.
- Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work to provide our students with a safe and memorable Halloween Parade!
