Wessagusset Weekly News
May 19, 2024
Dear Families,
There was a lot of excitement at our PBIS meeting on Thursday. We talked about the first ever (I think) Wessagusset School Song Contest! We are excited to choose a special song that represents and celebrates our school community. Each student can submit one song and a group of staff members will choose the perfect song for our school. Songs can be submitted here: Wessagusset School Song Contest
Each grade level also shared out the Community Service project that they are working on. It was so great to hear about all of the important ways that our students are helping their community:
Kindergarten students have been collecting change that will be used to take care of the eagles and owls they have been studying this year.
1st Grade is working with the Weymouth Health Department to organize a blood drive at Chapman in July.
2nd Graders are writing personal letters to soldiers that will be included in CarePacks for troops!
Grade 3 collected boxes of cereal that were donated to the Weymouth Food Pantry (after being used in a very cool domino chain!)
Students in Grade 4 donated extra Halloween candy to first responders, and were awesome penpals with senior citizens from the Weymouth Senior Center.
5th Grade is collecting household supplies and cleaning products for local shelters.
We are so proud of our students - their generosity and willingness to help others is extraordinary!
- Thursday, June 6th - Celtics Day! Let's kick off the Finals with Celtics gear or lots of green!
- Field Day is this Friday, June 7th! Be sure to send your child with a hat and sunscreen. The school lunch will be available to all (pizza) but students can bring a lunch from home if they do not want pizza.
- Be sure to scroll down to the Parent Council Corner for important updates and some very cool raffles!
