National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

From February 23 to March 1, we recognize National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, a time to learn, support, and break the stigma surrounding conditions such as anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. These are not simple habits, but serious mental health conditions that affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.

This week invites us to listen, learn, and provide supportive resources, remembering that every story matters and that recovery is possible with understanding, empathy, and access to help.

What are eating disorders?

Self-injury (Cutting, Self-Harm or Self-Mutilation) | Mental Health America

Self-injury, also known as self-harm, self-mutilation, or self-abuse—occurs when someone repeatedly harms themselves on purpose in a way that is impulsive and not intended to be lethal. While self-harm is not intended to be lethal, people who harm themselves are at a higher risk of attempting suicide if they do not receive help.
