Start of Quarter 2

As the second quarter of the school year starts, parents play a crucial role in supporting their children's academic and social development.

  • To actively engage, consider setting aside regular time each week to discuss school activities and encourage open communication about their experiences and challenges.
  • Creating a structured homework routine can help students stay organized and focused while providing a dedicated space for learning.
  • Instill positive study habits by encouraging their children to set specific goals and celebrate their achievements, no matter how small.
  • Remind students to ask questions in class and seek help when needed, reinforcing the importance of being proactive in their learning.
  • Fostering a growth mindset by emphasizing effort over perfection can motivate students to embrace challenges and view setbacks as opportunities for growth.

By working together, parents and students can cultivate a supportive environment that promotes success throughout the school year.

Intramurals

Looking for more opportunities for your student to get involved with? Here at the Middle School, we offer intramural sports after school to include our 6th grade students as well as 7th and 8th graders in physical activities outside of our school sports. If you are interested, take a look at the attached flyer and contract Mr. Green (egreen@scsmustangs.org) or Mr. Bokar (jbokar@scsmustangs.org).

School Attendance Matters! School Attendance Matters!

Picking up/Dropping off at School

One change that we have implemented this year is our procedure for picking students up early. When picking up your child from school for appointments, not feeling well, or other reasons;

  • You will be required to park your car
  • Enter the building
  • Press the intercom and present your driver's license for identity verification
  • Sign out your child on the cart in the vestibule
When that is complete, your student will be called down and sent out to you.

Dropping your child off at school does not require you to come into the building as they can sign themselves in.

We appreciate your support in keeping our students and building safe.
