Academy Announcements

Dear Academy Families and Friends,

We are on the move-please be sure to follow us on the website, facebooks, and websites. After all knowledge is power.

Other important notes:

The students learned about the ROAR expectations in the classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, cafeteria, playground, and of course on the buses.
Kindergarten is off to a great start. This past Friday we reviewed the 6 different zones of our PBIS matrix.
This past, Tuesday, the 5th graders attended a Band Instrument Demonstration in the gym. If your child is interested in playing an instrument, please click this link to sign up.
The Open House on Tuesday was well attended and full of excitement. It was great to see our community come together for a night of fun!
Reminder: The Academy driveway closes at 9AM daily to all traffic and then we unload the Top Lot cars. Cars are dismissed one row at a time back down the ramp and out to the Avenue. At dismissal, the top lot is closes at 3:10PM, so please don't be late.
Please make sure chromebooks are charged nightly and returned to school every morning with your child. They will need them daily!
Social Studies and Science: Social Studies and Science are valuable and essential content areas that are part of all students' education in Grades K-5. We are responsible for covering Massachusetts Learning Standards in these subject areas in all grades, and all teachers plan and implement engaging lessons that meet the Learning Standards for their grade level. The Mass Department of Elementary of Secondary Education has really helpful guides that explain these standards for families: Mass Learning Standards for Families
Important safety notice: There will be roadwork at the intersection of Broad and Middle to the intersection of Broad and Essex there will be road work starting Tuesday of this week. This will impact the school, please plan accordingly.

Reminder: The school day starts at First Bell (8:50AM) and the late bell rings at 9:05 AM. Please make every effort to have your child present and on time every day! The end of the day bell rings at 3:15 PM.
