Student Representatives Join Board

The 2026-27 student representatives joined the Board for their first meeting last night. They are, from left to right Millard West Senior Ava Johnson, Millard South Senior Chloe Koeller, and Millard North Senior Alyssa Blocher.

Millard Levy Drops to 30-Year Low

The Board of Education adopted the budget for the 2026-27 school year. The total levy will be lowered from $1.0900 to $1.0352, a decrease of $0.0548. This is the lowest levy in Millard in more than three decades.

Millard Students Earn International Baccalaureate Diplomas

The Board received the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Report last night. For the 2026 school year, sixty Millard students received their IB Diploma. The IB Diploma Programme begins in the junior year. Millard offers three IB programs. The Primary Years Programme is at Aldrich and Black Elk Elementary Schools. The Middle Year's Programme from 6th through 10th grades is at Millard North Middle School and Millard North High School. The Diploma Programme for 11th and 12th grades is at Millard North High School. More information about International Baccalaureate is available here.

Millard Creates Partnership to Offer Staff Graduate Courses

Millard is partnering with the University of Nebraska Omaha and Educational Service Unit No. 3, ESU3, to develop Foundations of Adolescent Literacy, a graduate course designed specifically for intermediate and secondary educators to strengthen their knowledge and skills in foundational literacy instruction for adolescent readers. Millard plans to begin offering Foundations of Adolescent Literacy to teachers pursuing their master's degrees in the summer of 2027.

Millard North High School Spanish Teacher Shaun Hoover has been honored with the Freda Battey Distinguished Educator Award given by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Education and Human Sciences.
Montclair Elementary Resource Teacher Michael Clark has been honored with an Omaha Impact Award.
Keith Lutz Horizon High School Teacher Cole Snook recently led a research-based professional development workshop for fellow educators at the 2026 Nebraska Writing Project Institute at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
