Welcome Dr. Robinson

From the beginning of her career, Dr. Tracie Robinson committed to changing the trajectory of students by focusing on school choice, community engagement, culture, and literacy. She created partnerships with businesses and community members to support innovative programs such as an urban greenhouse, STEM lab and adult learning courses at her campuses and within the district. She supported the whole child by building services such as the food bank, back pack snacks, and GED/ESL classes into the school. Dr. Robinson’s creative problem-solving skills with the school community helped her acquire resources that met the needs of diverse populations. Throughout her 24- year career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, central office administrator and adjunct professor. She previously served as the Chief Executive Officer/Principal in Marshall ISD. Dr. Robinson completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at University of Houston, and she completed her Doctorate of Educational Leadership in 2009 from Nova Southeastern University.

I am excited about the opportunity to lead the opportunities that G.W. Carver Magnet High School has for students in Aldine ISD. The successes of the students in the Magnet program and the future of P-TECH will continue to demonstrate the panther pride at Carver Magnet High School. As a pillar of the Acres Homes Community, Carver Magnet High School will continue to prepare every student for success in college, career and life.

With over 25 years of professional accomplishments as an Interior Designer, Liz has specializations in Healthcare and Hospitality design along with approximately 15 years of teaching interior design classes with a focus on space planning and ADA. Achievements include being a Registered Interior Designer (RID) and a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) in Texas; as well as a LEED Green Associate, a National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) certificate holder, and an NCIDQ Ambassador.

Ms. Thompson received a B.S. in Interior Design from Winthrop University, an M.Ed. from the University of Houston, and an M.F.A. in Interior Design with a focus on Human Environments from Brenau University.

Carver is excited to offer these new programs and look forward the growth of our P-Tech program though introducing two additional P-Tech programs next year.

Carver Voices

Carver singers competed in the first round of Texas All state auditions at Westfield High School. This was a blind audition where students sang in a room behind a screen with 5 judges. Students were judged on their musicality, performance and musical interpretation of the music on 3 pieces and ranked according to their scores. The Carver singers had 5 students advance to the next round! These 5 students will compete again on October 18th at Atascocita High School.
