A Great Start to the School Year

We are off to a wonderful start this school year! It has been such a joy to welcome our students back into the classrooms and hallways, bringing new energy and excitement each day. We are also grateful to welcome new staff members who have joined our St. Patrick School community.Together, we are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and faith. As always, I am excited that the students are back and the school is buzzing with activity. As I visit classrooms, it is great to see students engaged, eager to learn, and excited to be here. It truly brings joy to watch their enthusiasm shine.

As we begin the year, we also want to share a few reminders about school safety. For the protection of our students and staff, all visitors must enter through the main office entrance at 615 Washington St. When you arrive, please press the button located on the left hand side of the door to let the office know you are there. Office staff will then provide access into the building. These procedures help us ensure that everyone in our school remains safe and secure.

Additionally, we will be implementing some added safety measures for our School Masses. A separate email will be sent with details about these procedures so families are well-informed.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we begin another exciting school year. With your partnership, we know this will be a year full of blessings. As we move forward together, we take comfort in the words of Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Blessings,

Mr. Wiebers

We will soon be implementing a new online bill pay system. EZSchoolPay can be used to pay your lunch balances, Circle of Care fees, preschool fees, etc. Be on the lookout for a separate email this week, with a Parent Guide to getting your account setup to pay your fees online. Please be aware that we will be discontinuing our use of Revtrak for online payments. If you have that web page bookmarked, make sure to update it to EZSchoolPay.

One of the amazing aspects of our school is the opportunity for parents to be involved! This is a great way to support our school and benefit our students. We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities, from being a homeroom parent, volunteering at our Book Fair, helping with teacher meals during conferences, and the list goes on. Please check out our Volunteer Sign Up to see how you can get involved!

The Good Shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. The sheep listen to his voice and follow him. -John 10:3b-4

St. Patrick Church invites your child (aged 3-6 years) to participate in a program called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd where children work peacefully in an atrium room prepared just for them.

They are free to choose hands-on materials to take them deeper into the mysteries of God and His Kingdom. A few such works include setting up a model altar, moving figures of the Annunciation, flagging cities in Israel, and mixing dough to ponder how the yeast is like the Kingdom of God.

This is not one more activity on your week's to-do-list. Rather, it is a deeply peaceful and fulfilling time of prayer for your child. It is time set aside to learn to listen to the voice of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and time to respond to his invitation of a loving relationship.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd enhances the Catholic life of your family at home and at St. Patrick school and pre-school. Even after a full day of school, young children find their time in the CGS atrium to be rejuvenating and joyful. As one 5 year-old said, "My body is happy."

There are still openings available in our level 1 atrium for 3-6 years olds on Wednesday at 2:00-3:30pm. A catechist will walk children across the street from both St. Patrick School and Clover Patch after school. Pick up will be in the parish center link hallway outside the chapel at 3:30pm.

Sessions begin Sept 17.

One-hour parent meeting on Sept 10 at 6pm in the church Commons.

Annual fee: $125, financial assistance available.

Please contact me with questions or to register. I am always happy to give a tour of our beautiful atrium rooms. Come and see!
