MakeMusic Assignments
MakeMusic assignments are initially assigned grades using the performance data recorded through the program. The directors meet the morning after submissions are due, watch through all submissions, and discuss the assigned grades. Students are expected to submit a recording of the assigned music by the posted deadline. Any student that submits late must notify Ms. Milton & Mr. Sandre so that they can go in and rectify the Skyward grade. The MakeMusic system does not notify the directors when there is a late submission.
Students receive a grade based on their percentage of correct notes/rhythms in the tempo that the student decided to go. Higher accuracy results in a higher grade, while missed notes, incorrect rhythms, and other performance errors lower the score. Students are encouraged to use the practice and feedback features in MakeMusic before submitting their final recording so they have an opportunity to identify and correct mistakes.
The purpose of these assignments is not simply to earn a grade, but to hold students accountable for individual preparation and provide measurable feedback on their progress. MakeMusic grades are one part of the overall band grade and are intended to reinforce consistent practice and preparation outside of their weekly masterclass.

Football Game FAQ
Q: How will my child get dinner the day of the game?
A: The band boosters will provide meals for every student after school in the SAC before football games
Q: Can my child go home after school before a football game?
A: No, students need to remain on campus, eat the meal provided, and change so they are on time for inspection.
Q: Can I bring my child food in the stands during football games?
A: No-students can not eat in uniform during football games, food can't be brought to them in the stands, and they can't bring food with them.
Q: What time will the football games end?
A: Typically football games last around 3 hours. A kick-off time of 7 PM means an end time around 10 PM. Overtime and style of play will determine the length of the game as well. Departure times from the stadium and estimated return times to GHS will be communicated via SportsYou.
Q: What if my child has early release during 9th period?
A: Students with early release are still provided a meal by the band boosters. If these students wish to opt out of meals they must communicate to the meals coordinator at meals@grapevinehsband.com
