The Dawg Dispatch
August 7th, 2025

November 13, 2025 Edition
The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission: “The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”
Bulldawgs in Action - School Spotlight
Embodying the Bulldawg BARK!
Ms. Buchanan’s students are showing what it truly means to embody the Bulldawg BARK! During classroom observations this week, scholars were fully engaged, reviewing expectations, participating in meaningful discussions, and proudly sharing “something good” to start their day on a positive note.
Students demonstrated responsibility by staying focused on their assignments, respect by listening attentively to peers, and readiness to learn through active participation. The classroom environment was warm, structured, and filled with energy, exactly what Saddled Up for Success looks like at Aberdeen Elementary School!
Way to go, Ms. Buchanan and students! Keep leading the way with excellence!
Superintendent’s A-Team Scholars Luncheon
Dr. Smith, Superintendent of Schools, hosted the Superintendent’s A-Team Scholars Luncheon to celebrate our 1st nine weeks All-A students. AES scholars were honored on Thursday, and BSMS and AHS students followed on Friday.
Our Child Nutrition team catered the meals with the kind of care they’re known for, and students enjoyed a well-earned break filled with music, certificates, lunch, and genuine conversations amongst themselves. It was a proud moment for our schools, recognizing hard work the way it should be recognized.
AES Gifted Students Dive Into Hands-On Science
At Aberdeen Elementary, our gifted students wrapped up an exciting unit on bats, spiders, and owls with a hands-on science lab that brought their learning to life.
Students dissected owl pellets to investigate what owls eat, identify bones, and study real-life evidence of animal behavior. This messy, fascinating activity strengthened the scientific observation and data-collection skills they’ve been building in the gifted classroom.
Way to go, students! When curiosity leads the way, science becomes an adventure.
🌱We Build It Better Success! 🌱
Belle-Shivers Middle School's "We Build It Better" students designed and created air plans, showing off their creativity, engineering skills, and teamwork.
In addition to their STEM projects, our students also gave back to our school community by helping the Garden Club build brand-new garden beds. Their hard work will support our growing garden space for seasons to come!
We are proud of their innovation, leadership, and willingness to serve.
Great job, Bulldogs!

Veterans Day Breakfast at AES
Aberdeen Elementary School was honored to host an early Veterans Day breakfast for the parents, guardians, grandparents, and/or family members of our students who served or currently serve in the military. Our kindergarten students shared a special song, and Edward Haynes, along with our first grade students, marched proudly to a special cadence. We also heard an inspiring speech from Master Sergeant Clyde Williams.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize this event and to every veteran who came out. We appreciate your service and sacrifice!

🎓 Wednesdays Are for College Pride!
Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. It’s a simple way to spark conversations, plant dreams, and keep students motivated toward their future goals. Let’s show them that the road to college starts right here in Bulldawg Country!
🏈💙 Playoff Time for the Bulldawgs! 💙🏈

Dawgs advance to 3rd Round!
Last night, the Dawgs powered past the Booneville Blue Devils with a 58–39 victory, securing their spot in Round 3 of the playoffs. This team played with grit, discipline, and the kind of determination that makes our community proud.
On Friday, November 21, the Dawgs will travel to Winona for the next matchup. It’s time to gear up, show up, and make our presence known. Pull out your blue and white, bring the noise, and stand behind our players as they continue this playoff run.
