Week of Respect! October 5 - 9 Week of Respect! October 5 - 9

Week of Respect, which will take place October 5-9, is dedicated to challenging ourselves to make a difference in the lives of others. While we may not always know what someone else is going through, we can always choose how we treat the people around us. Be the person who includes others, the person who speaks up when something isn’t right, and the person who chooses to show respect. Challenge yourself to make someone feel safe, valued, and included. A small act of kindness or a simple gesture can make a bigger difference than you realize. Respect starts with us!

💙 Monday, October 5 — Blue Out

Wear BLUE in recognition of World Bullying Prevention Day and to take a stand against bullying.

Students can get their photo taken outside the cafeterias during lunch, pledging to be the “I in Kind.”

Photos will be featured on the hallway TV monitors and displayed throughout the school.

Give Back Club Semicolon Project

September is National Suicide Awareness Month. It’s a time to remember those affected by suicide, a time to raise awareness, and to focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most. Last week, the Give Back Club handed out semicolon stickers, a symbol of hope, survival, and the continuation of life for individuals struggling with mental health issues.

If you believe someone is thinking about suicide, speak to a school counselor, the student assistance counselor, or members of the child study team. Suicide is never the answer. Join the Give Back Club in spreading positivity and awareness at KHS. Together we can make a difference.
