Timber Talks
River Mill Elementary - May 30th
Dear River Mill Families,
We have so many exciting events happening over the next two weeks as we make the most of our remaining time together! Our goal is to pack these final days with meaningful learning experiences and fun opportunities that our students will remember.
One special event coming up is our annual Career Fair on Tuesday. This is a fantastic chance for students to learn about a wide range of professions and begin thinking about the many possibilities for their futures. A huge thank-you goes out to our school counselors, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Bohrer, for all the behind-the-scenes planning and coordination they’ve done to bring this event to life. Their hard work is giving our students the chance to dream big and explore new ideas!
As always, we appreciate your continued support in helping us finish the school year strong. Thank you for being such an important part of our River Mill community!

Presenters Needed!
River Mill Elementary is excited to offer our sixth annual school-wide career fair. The career fair is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
We are looking for presenters who are eager to share their career paths with students. As you know, one of our priorities at River Mill Elementary School is to equip every student with the skills necessary to become competent, resourceful, and successful. In order to support this goal we are requesting that our presenters share the following information:
How do you use reading, writing, and math skills (or other school subjects) on your job?
How do you use technology in your career field?
What type of education and training is needed for advancement into the career area?
Describe your job duties.
Describe a typical work day.
What talents and skills are necessary for success in your career field?
What personal traits are helpful in your career?
Each presenter will deliver 4-7 presentations for approximately 20 minutes each as they rotate to different classrooms. If you are willing to be a presenter, use the link below to complete the form.

Be On Time and Stay All Day
At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!
Attendance Matters
Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success! Please help us support your child's learning by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong habits for lifelong learning!
