SLEDMERE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL
WEEK ENDING 18TH DECEMBER 2020
CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
As a Federation of two small, rural schools, we are immensely proud of our children for their resolute determination to succeed, despite the challenges they are facing. They are fine examples to us all of how fantastic our pupils are. On behalf of the entire staff please thank them for their smiley faces and eagerness to learn.
I'd also like to thank all parents and carers for their continued confidence in us as educators. Your children are happy, safe and thriving and we wish them all a very merry Christmas.
I'd also like to thank the governors, church and local authority for their support, guidance and encouragement. Both school families appreciate that circumstances are challenging across the whole country and we certainly value the time that many people give up to help us to do our job as effectively as possible.
The staff are all exhausted and ready for a break to re-charge. I'm sure you'd like to join me in thanking them for their continued dedication and tremendous skill.
I hope you all manage to enjoy a peaceful Christmas wherever you are. We look forward to seeing you all in January.
Peter Richardson

REPORTING POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY - REMINDER
We have been asked by the DfE to make you aware of the following information and arrangements for reporting any positive cases during the holiday period:
· Where a pupil tests positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school (i.e. after 2pm on Sunday 20th December), the school should not be contacted.
· Parents and carers should instead follow the contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace and further information can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ or by calling 119.
· Until 2pm on 24th December, if a pupil tests positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, (in other words the symptoms started prior to 2pm on Sunday 20th December) the school needs to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school. If this is the case, please let the school know by emailing Mr Richardson on prichardson@sledmerewetwang.co.uk We will then contact anyone identified as a close contact.
· After 2pm on 24th December parents and carers should only contact NHS Test and Trace and not the school.
Many thanks for your support of both schools this term.
Kind regards,
Peter Richardson
