From Doan's Desk...
We want to wish everyone a safe and happy four-day weekend. Our students and staff will hopefully be able to enjoy a couple of extra days away from school.
With there being no school on Monday (02/16) and Tuesday (02/17), that means we will quickly have our last day of Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 19th, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. We already had our night of virtual conferences this week, which means next week will be the last chance to meet with teachers in a formal manner.
March will bring Spring Break, April is for state testing, and then May will be here before we know it with Graduation and the end of the school year.
Have a great weekend-Sko Yotes!

Congratulations to MOHI's Mock Trial Team!
Monarch competed this past weekend in the Boulder regional mock trial tournament. This year we were pleased to enter two teams into the competition and we cannot be more proud of the way they competed and conducted themselves. The bane and the blessing of competing in the Boulder region though is that the neighboring schools prove to be worthy competition, so while our excellence was not rewarded by a trip to state this year, we nonetheless were excellent in the courtroom. Indeed, Harper Dunn earned the award for Best Closer, and Lila Sannes for best portrayal of a witness (Jordan Peterson). Please congratulate the following students if you see them on a job well done. Also, a special shout out to Miranda McCoy, a Monarch graduate who returned this year to help coach the team and who is headed to law school next year.

Wish Week and Winter Ball
On behalf of Monarch's Student Council, we are extremely excited to announce our upcoming Wish Week and Winter Ball!
Wish Week is our annual week-long fundraiser supporting Make-A-Wish Colorado. Throughout the week, there will be lots of events and fundraisers to support and make an impact to Make-A-Wish. This year, our fundraising goal is $40,000 and we are excited to see what Monarch High School and the community can do!
Wish Week will take place from February 23rd-27th, with our Winter Ball dance on February 28th.
This year, we are honored to be celebrating Sabrina! Sabrina is a junior at Centaurus High School who was diagnosed with lymphoma and is now cancer-free. Her wish is to be an Avalanche player for a day, and we are excited to celebrate her in this unforgettable experience.
Wish Week:
Our Wish Week opening assembly will be on February 23rd with our closing celebratory assembly on February 27th.
Throughout the week, there will be several new fundraising initiatives, including:
- Clubs vs. Clubs Competition: Each club will receive a unique donation link, and the club that raises the most money will earn the opportunity to sponsor and run a game at the Wish Week assembly. A live leaderboard will be displayed throughout the week, highlighting the top five donating clubs and their totals.
- Restaurant Fundraiser Nights: Monarch has partnered with local restaurants to donate a percentage of their proceeds to Monarch's Wish Week.
- And much more!
We are also seeking support from parents and families who own or are affiliated with local businesses. Community partnerships and business sponsorships play a crucial role in expanding our events and increasing our overall impact. If you or someone you know may be interested in donating, sponsoring an event, or partnering with us, we would love to connect.
More details about daily events, donation links, restaurant nights, and sponsorship opportunities will be shared soon. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to make Monarch High School a community that gives back!
