Fall has arrived at Springton Lake, and there’s so much happening around The Lake!
Our first all-school dance is next Friday! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect and have fun together. Tickets go on sale Monday, and we’re looking for parent volunteers to help make the evening a success. Please note it is a half day of school with an 11:30 AM dismissal. We do serve free breakfast on early dismissal days, but lunch will not be provided.
We also invite parents to join our first Parent Teacher Group (PTG) meeting of the year on Tuesday, the 14th, at 7:00 PM in the SLMS Library. Details are included below.
From clubs kicking off to fundraising fun and family involvement opportunities, there is a lot to enjoy this fall. Featured in the picture below is our Student Council Club meeting after school, where students are planning many of these upcoming events.
Thank you for staying connected and supporting our Spartan community!
Sincerely,
Ryan Buterbaugh

Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
Nurse
Sixth grade parents, please send in documentation of a 6th grade physical if you have not done so already. The physical must be dated September 2024 or later.
Seventh grade parents, please send in documentation of a 7th grade dental if you have not done so already. The dental examination must be dated September 2024 or later.
Forms can be handed in to the nurse, emailed to khartner@rtmsd.org, or faxed to 610-627-6531.
State mandated health screenings will be ongoing throughout the fall. All students will have their height, weight and vision screened. In addition, students in the 7th grade will have scoliosis and hearing screened. Please contact the school nurse with any questions.

RTMSD Survey
As part of the Rose Tree Media School District’s strategic planning process, we are updating our mission and vision statements to reflect the values and aspirations of our community. Your voice is essential in this work.
We invite staff, parents, and guardians to complete a brief Google Form to share your perspectives on what makes our district unique, what experiences every student should have each day, and what qualities we hope to see in our graduates. Your input will directly inform the development of mission and vision statements that guide our work now and in the future.
Please take a few minutes to complete the Google Form here: RTMSD Mission & Vision
