BMSOD Weekly Update for Parents/Community #13
Blenheim Elementary/Middle School: A Season of Growth and Academic Success
As we quickly head into fall, the weather is turning cooler, and the leaves are beginning to fall. Just as the seasons change, our students continue to grow, learn, and develop new skills each day. Fall reminds us that growth takes time, patience, and consistent care. The same is true for learning! At Blenheim Elementary/Middle School, we remain committed to providing engaging, meaningful instruction that challenges our students, strengthens their skills, and prepares them for continued academic success.
We are now midway through the second nine weeks, making this an important time to pause, reflect, and evaluate our students’ academic progress. We encourage all parents and guardians to take time to review their child’s grades in PowerSchool and communicate regularly with their teachers about their progress.
If your child is struggling academically, please do not wait until the end of the grading period to seek support. We encourage you to schedule a conference with your child’s teachers to discuss areas of concern, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop a plan for success. If additional support is needed, our school administration is available to meet with you and work collaboratively to determine the best ways to help your child succeed.
Parents are our partners in education! When families and schools work together, we can identify challenges early, celebrate progress, and ensure that every student has the support needed to reach their full potential. Let’s use this season as an opportunity to refocus, set goals, and continue growing together.
Thank you for your continued support of Blenheim Elementary/Middle School. Together, we will keep our students moving forward and soaring to success together!

Halloween Costume Guidelines and Trunk-or-Treat
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach Halloween, we are excited to share that students will be permitted to wear Halloween costumes to school on our designated celebration day! We look forward to providing our students with an opportunity to enjoy the holiday while maintaining a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all students and staff, please review the following costume guidelines:
No masks: Students may not wear masks that cover their faces.
No weapons: Costumes and accessories may not include toy weapons or items that resemble weapons.
No blood: Costumes may not include fake blood or graphic, blood-related designs.
School-appropriate attire: All costumes must be appropriate for the school setting and comply with school dress code expectations.
In addition to wearing costumes, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Trunk-or-Treat celebration before the end of the school day. We are looking forward to providing our students with a fun and memorable experience!
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that all costumes meet these expectations. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to make this a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
Sincerely,
Dr. James H. McCall Jr.
