Hello, parents and guardians! Welcome to this special edition of the SPCL newsletter designed to keep you up-to-date with library news. Hopefully, by now, you and your child have had a chance to visit our lovely library on the 4th floor of Seward Park Campus! If not, be sure to stop by Monday-Wednesday, 8:45-3:30 or Thursdays and Fridays, 10-4:30. If you can't make it in person, be sure to visit our website: www.sewardparkcampuslibrary.org and follow our Instagram account at @sparkcampuslibrary.

Our first library book orders have arrived! We have new titles in fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels! Unfortunately, our book contracts are currently under renegotiation, so it may be a couple of months before the next wave of books. The good news is, however, your child still has time to request titles below!

Every month, we have rotating displays on top of our shelves of books to check out that month. Be sure that your child checks out these books for topical reads.

Visit our larger display of Indigenous literature - comics, graphic novels, fiction, nonfiction, and memoir - learn about the stories of Indigenous culture.

In this season of gratitude, what books are you most thankful for? Come visit our participatory display where you can share about how a title has transformed or shaped you!

Every Thursday and Friday, we have after school book club. Your child can read with friends or read with our interns. We do a mixture of read-alouds and discussions, and we have copies of the book for them to borrow. This month, we are reading One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus. Watch the book trailer below!

The best way to keep up with our news is to visit our website: www.sewardparkcampuslibrary.org. Here, you'll find all the resources to search for books, do research, learn about events, and book library and studio space.

Our podcast studio is currently accepting reservations! Have a good idea for a show you'd like to record with friends? Sign up at: https://www.sewardparkcampuslibrary.org/studio. No experience is necessary. Recording sessions happen during lunch and after school on Thursdays and Fridays. Curious about what we make here? Listen to our shows below!

We are working with MakerspaceNYC to build a Makerspace in our library! We are currently hoping to purchase a laser cutter, an embroidery machine, and we have four Makerbots (3D printers) which we'd like to get fully operational. If you have any expertise in this area, please reach out as we are in the fundraising phase!

We also host after hours events with a local bookstore called Yu&Me Books! Adults are welcome to these book talks which cover a wide range of topics. You can stay updated of these events by using any of the links below!
