Welcome Back Mrs. Osborne!
We are excited to welcome back Mrs. Meghan Osborne, our 8th-grade math teacher, who returns after spending the first nine weeks on maternity leave. We’re so glad to have her back with our students and team! We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Melanie Kerr for stepping in during Mrs. Osborne’s leave. Her dedication and support have been greatly appreciated, and we are thankful for the positive impact she made with our 8th-grade students.
Report Cards
Report cards will be sent home this Friday, November 7. We’ve now begun a new grading period, which gives every student a fresh start and the opportunity to set new goals for success. Families are encouraged to log into Infinite Campus each week—or have your child log in and show you—to stay up to date on grades, assignments, and progress throughout the quarter.
Heart of a Hawk!
All students will receive a school spirit shirt, purchased by PTO, for the kickoff on Monday. Thank you, PTO!
Last year, we met our goal of $25,000 and I spent the night on the roof of the gym. This year, our goal is $40,000 and if we reach it I will be back on the roof of the gym!
Each student will receive a BINGO board, seen below. This provides the challenges and rewards. The first step is to REGISTER your child, that completes one tile of the BINGO board!
Register Here. The code is 9 7 1 - 4 4 9

Career Development Month
Did you know that November is Career Development Month?
We will recognize and celebrate this in different ways this month at NBMS. On Tuesday, November 4th, we will sponsor a Career Cafe. As students go to and from lunch, they can visit tables of different careers and talk with workers at each. Student organizations from North Buncombe High School will also be set up in the lobby for students to be introduced to before high school. These organizations include FFA, DECA and HOSA.
On Monday, November 10th, students may sign up for our next "Career Connection" session. This month our speaker is a nurse from Mission Hospital. Sign ups will be at the end of this coming week.
We will sponsor more career conversations throughout the month, stay tuned.
Fall Picture Re-Takes
We will be offering Fall RETAKE pictures on November 4th.
This link will allow parents to sign up to receive email updates about their child's school portraits after picture day. These emails are sent to announce important things like when images are ready for viewing online, when novelty items are available for purchase and when new deals and promotions are being offered. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school.
