A Note from Mr. Hofer

Dear Southwest Parents and Students,

It’s hard to believe that November is already upon us! There are many exciting things happening at Southwest as we move into the second quarter.

One special event I’d like to highlight is our Veterans Day Honor Lap—our way of recognizing and celebrating those who have served in the armed forces. All veterans are invited to attend. Donuts and coffee will be available in the Southwest gym prior to the Honor Lap. Additional details can be found below.

As temperatures begin to drop, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We will continue to go outside for recess unless the “feels like” temperature falls below 10 degrees.

If your family is experiencing financial need and your child is in need of winter clothing, please reach out to our school social worker, Julia Stevens, at jstevens@hscsed.org. We want to ensure all students have the appropriate clothing to stay warm and comfortable during the colder months.

PTA Information

Hello! Thank you all for your help raising money during our Tanner's Donut Fundraiser! With the help of Cargill, Inc, we were able to cover our portion of the swing sets! We can't wait to see (and play on) the finished product. Here's what November brings!

November 11 - Tanner's Donut pick-up is from 3:30-6pm in front of Southwest. All donuts must be picked up at once. If this date does not work please email blairmonica13@gmail.com to set up an alternate option.

November 12 - PTA meeting in Southwest Cafeteria @ 630pm

November 19 - Picture Re-take day

Coming home this month is a gift card fundraiser. Forms will be due after Thanksgiving break and gift cards will come home before Christmas break! This is a great time to stock up for your Christmas gifts!
