MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Dear Lindblom families and community,
As we begin our second week back after winter break, I want to pause and reflect on a powerful bright spot in our fall Cultivate data: Student Voice emerged as the strongest learning condition reported by our students.
Students are more engaged and take greater ownership of their learning when they are offered meaningful choices, invited to share their ideas, and experience their voices being heard and valued.
The Student Voice prompts are:
I have the opportunity to make choices in this class.
In this class, my ideas are taken seriously.
This teacher responds to student suggestions to make our class better.
We all agree that responsiveness to student feedback is an opportunity to elevate engagement and learning. I appreciate everyone who is already creating meaningful opportunities for student voice through choice and feedback. As we move forward together, let’s continue to be intentional about inviting student input so all students experience agency, ownership, and investment in their classroom experience.
Last but certainly not least, I am so pleased to announce that our second Eagle Express is almost ready for delivery to our school! THANK YOU to our ALSC members for helping us pull together the funds to secure this additional bus for our students. The bus will help us reduce our monthly transportation costs.
Together we rise onward and upward.
