Principal's Message

Dear Sycamore Families,

We have had an amazing start to our 24-25 SY. It seems our students have returned ready to learn and collaborate. They are the energy of our school and we are so excited they are back. We enjoyed seeing so many of you at our Open House. We had an impressive number of families join our PTA. If you have not done so, I highly encourage you to join and get involved. A link to join will be on our school website.

This year, our work will be grounded in our Core Beliefs. These beliefs were developed with the help of parents, students, staff, and community members. Our Sycamore Elementary School Core beliefs are:

We have a personal responsibility to do our part.
We believe in supporting each other as we are a family with a common goal.
We believe in doing our best so our students can achieve their personal best.
We believe in creating an environment of trust that encourages, equips, challenges, and empowers staff, students, and parents to grow and achieve.
When we take ownership of our learning and work together as a family within our classroom and school, we positively impact the future of our students, staff, and community.

Counselor Corner

Has your child come home talking about your Longhorn Tickets? We hope they have! Sycamore Elementary is a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) School. Through this program, students are directly taught the expected behaviors for all areas of our school using our three school rules: Be Ready, Respectful, and Responsible. Teachers focus on teaching these expectations and other social emotional skills during our daily morning Socal Emotional Learning (SEL) time. Students are then rewarded for displaying positive behaviors in our school building with our Longhorn tickets. They can use these tickets to "purchase" items from our PBIS store. Interested in supporting items for our PBIS Store? Click here! Students are also recognized monthly for showing our Character Word of the Month and this year we will be adding a Principal Pal of the week for one student who is displaying positive behavior and leadership. It is our hope that through these programs we continue to create and maintain a positive and welcoming culture for all Sycamore students!
