Dear Families,

This rainy weather this week put a hold on our Fun Run but it won't stop us from reaching our fundraising goals. The good news is we have surpassed our goal of $15,000 and are at $23,500 in profit for our school. We are so appreciative of your support! You can keep collecting pledges and earning prizes through next week.

All students will participate in our Fun Run on September 23rd. You're welcome to join us to watch your child(ren) run. Send us all the no rain vibes on Wednesday!

Listed below is the schedule for when each grade will be running on September 16th.

8:50 am -9:20 am - 2nd Grade

9:25 am - 9:55 am - Kindergarten

10:00 am -10:30 am - 3rd Grade and AM Pre-K

10:35 am -11:05 am - 5th Grade

11:10 am -11:40 am - 1st Grade

11:45 am -12:15 pm - 4th Grade

1:20 pm -1:50pm - Full Day Pre-K and PM Pre-K

Lunch Menu for Wednesday, September 23rd - Fun Run Day

By state law, youth organizations chartered by Congress may request time in the school day to address students. One of these organizations is the Boy Scouts of America, and they have asked for time to tell students about scouting.

We will be accommodating their request during lunch on Friday, September 25th. The Boy Scouts will be giving a 3-5 minute presentation. We wanted to make sure all parents and guardians are aware of the visit. If you have questions, please email me at trcooper@mpsomaha.org

During the month of October, our classroom counseling lessons in grades K-5 will focus on skills of resiliency, coping skills and how to get help for oneself and/or a friend. These lessons are intended to educate students on feelings of stress, worry, sadness, how to cope with such feelings, and how to ask for help if needed. Students will identify coping strategies and trusted adults at school and outside of school to whom they can go for help. Please talk with your child about these feelings, and reinforce appropriate coping strategies such as talking with a trusted adult, exercising, or doing an activity they enjoy.
