Mill Valley Weekly
September 12th, 2024
Hello Mill Valley Families,
We have enjoyed visiting all the classrooms, meeting new students, and sharing an important message with all students about the "Power to Choose". It was exciting to read a story called "What Should Danny Do?" by Ganit and Adir Levy. This is a choose your own adventure book where we were able to share with students that the ultimate super power lies in our ability to make good choices, even if it isn't easy, and to constantly seek to improve ourselves and the world around us through the choices we make.
For the past two weeks of school, classrooms have been learning the behavior expectations for being Respectful, Responsible and Kind in all areas of the school. Tomorrow afternoon, we will celebrate their learning by participating in an All School Dance Party!
Sincerely,
Allyce & Julie

Help Your Child Succeed in School:
Build the Habit of Good Attendance Early
- Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
- Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.
- Students can still fall behind if they miss just one or two days every few weeks.
- Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
- Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school and college.
A Message from Taher Food Service:
We want to remind you of the importance of maintaining adequate funds in your child's school lunch account to ensure they can purchase milk daily. A carton of milk is only included with the purchase of a hot lunch.
Milk is an à la carte purchase, available for $0.50 per carton, regardless of a student’s meal status.
Please check your child's account balance regularly and consider adding funds as needed. You can do this online through Infinite Campus or by sending in cash or a check to the school office.
