Principal's Message - Building Excellence Together
Dear Mary M. Knight Families,
As we approach the final weeks of our first semester, I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for the partnership we've built with you and your families. The success of our students is truly a collaborative effort between our school and our homes.
These next two weeks are critical. Our students have the opportunity to finish strong and build momentum heading into the second half of the school year. Whether your child attends our elementary or secondary program, their effort and focus during this time matter significantly.
For all families: I encourage you to have conversations with your students about their learning, check in on their academic progress, and help them identify any areas where they might need additional support. Your involvement during these final weeks can make a real difference.
For secondary families specifically: Please note our key deadlines. January 20th is the last day for students to complete their coursework, and final grades are due on January 22nd. For our high school students, course credit is essential for graduation planning. If your student is struggling, please reach out to their advisory teacher immediately. We have resources and support available.
As a small school community, we know every student and care deeply about their success. Let's finish this semester together with pride and purpose. If you have questions or need support, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Go Owls!

End of First Semester Approaching β Important Information for All Secondary Families
Dear Mary M. Knight Secondary Families,
As we approach the conclusion of the first semester, I wanted to reach out to share important information and encourage your active involvement in your student's academic progress during these final weeks.
Key Dates:
- January 20th β Last day for students to complete coursework for the first semester
- January 22nd β Final grade submission by teachers
The Importance of Family Communication
These final weeks of the semester present a crucial opportunity to support your student's success. I encourage you to:
- Have meaningful conversations with your student about their academic progress, goals, and any challenges they may be facing
- Regularly check grades through Skyward to stay informed about missing assignments or areas needing improvement
- Connect with your student's advisory teacher if you have questions about their progress or need support in developing a plan for success
- Establish consistent study routines at home to help your student complete any outstanding work before the deadline
Important Note for High School Families:
For students in grades 9-12, it is critical to understand that failing a course means they will not receive the necessary course credit. Students will need to recoup that credit through summer school or future course adjustments, which may impact their graduation timeline.
Advisory Teacher Communications
Your student's advisory teacher will be reaching out separately with more specific information about your student's participation in advisory, academic advising sessions, and any individual concerns. These communications are designed to provide you with detailed insights and partnership opportunities. Please review these messages carefully and respond to any requests for meetings or follow-up.
We're Here to Help
Our goal is to ensure every student finishes the semester strong and is positioned for success in the second half of the school year. If you need assistance accessing Skyward, have questions about your student's progress, or would like to discuss ways to support your student at home, please don't hesitate to reach out to your student's advisory teacher or our office.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your student's education. Together, we can help our students achieve their full potential.
π¬ Real-World Learning in Action!
These photos show Regan opening a package she received from Weber State University
π±βπ«
In Mr. Johannesβ class, students completed an assignment where they wrote and mailed professional letters to colleges of their choice, requesting information, materials, and resources. This activity is part of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program and helps students practice real-world communication skills while exploring postsecondary and career options.
Seeing colleges respond makes the process real and exciting for students β and shows how initiative and professionalism pay off.
Great work, Regan!
