New Year
Welcome to a New Year. Lets start the New Year strong by making sure your scholars attend school everyday on time. Just a reminder the school choice portal is now live and open for the 2026-2027 school year. Families who choose to remain at O.H Perry you don't have to do anything. 8th grade families you are encouraged to choose a high school for your scholar.

Walkthroughs
This month we will continue to spend extra time in classrooms and working closely with teachers to complete classroom walkthroughs. These walkthroughs are designed to support high-quality instruction and promote student engagement. By collaborating with teachers and observing classroom practices, we aim to strengthen learning experiences and ensure that every student is actively involved and growing in their skills. We are also entering the season of our state teacher evaluations, an important process that helps us continue growing and strengthening our practice. Thank you for your ongoing partnership as we work together to provide the best learning experience for every student..

I-Ready
Hello OHP Families!
Helping Your Child Feel Ready for the i‑Ready Diagnostic
In the coming weeks, students will take the i‑Ready Diagnostic, an important tool we use to understand each child’s strengths and areas for growth in reading and math. This assessment is not a test to study for, but children do their best when they feel healthy, confident, and ready to learn.
Families can help by encouraging:
- A good night’s sleep the night before testing (going to bed on time and avoiding screens before bed)
- A nutritious breakfast to fuel growing brains
- A calm, positive mindset—remind your child to try their best and not rush
- Regular attendance, arriving on time so students can start the day relaxed
