A message from Wredling!

It’s time to order WMS (Clap out) tour shirts for your 5th-grade student!

This year, in addition to the tour shirt, we are also offering spirit wear for those interested. While purchasing the tour/ clapout shirt is optional, most students choose to wear them when they tour WMS in May. This year, we are using a company for all of our spirit wear purchases. When ordering through this company, all orders will be delivered to the address provided upon purchase.

Timelines:

1. The store is open at the link below (Please note that it can take 7-10 business days to get items delivered through this company, so plan accordingly)

2. Double-check sizing for your child before purchasing.

3. Parents can always reach out to our customer service department at customersupport@1stplacespiritwear.com or amanda@1stplacespiritwear.com.

4. WMS link for tour shirts: SHOP ALL The Tour shirt has the school year 2029. The shirt is pictured above.

AT Identification AT Identification

Parents will be notified by email by Monday, March 9, if their student has been identified for AT math, Accelerated math (6th grade only), or AT ELA. Families have the opportunity to appeal their child’s placement decision. Families can appeal for AT/Accelerated/Infinity placement by completing this form by May 1, 2026. Recommending a student for further review will not guarantee their placement, but it will prompt a comprehensive review that may/may not include classroom performance reviews and additional testing. More Information about AT pathways is available on the D303 website. Please contact tina.king@d303.org with additional questions.

Each year D303 participates in the 5Essentials Survey. This survey is completed by parents, staff and students in grades 4-11. You can find information regarding the survey here , including the link to complete the survey. We strive for as much participation as possible, so if you can take the time to complete the survey, it would be greatly appreciated. Our 4th and 5th grade students will complete their survey during the day with their classroom teacher. You can find the parent survey here.

For additional information, please visit our D303 5Essentials page.

The survey window will close on March 13, 2026.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

Medication whether prescription or over the counter can not be administered at school without a medication form completed by your child's physician. D303 Attendance Procedures Update

District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.

Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.

NEW VACATION POLICY:

  • The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use

  • Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences

  • This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students

We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.

Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
