Lutherville Families,

What an INCREDIBLE week at Lutherville Lab! This week our students had: Box Day, Sports Day, Trout Release field trip, Zoo Field Trip, a guest speaker in 5th Grade, and an unveiling of the planned memorial for Bailey and Serenity in our learning garden. What a week to be a Leopard.

A huge thank you to the dozens of family members who were able to join us on Field Trips as Chaperones and at Sports Day this week. We appreciate the support. Thank you also to those parents who were unable to join but made sure their kiddo was ready to participate and have a great time at these events. I know it can be hard to make everything one might like to attend.

A reminder that schools are closed on Monday. Wishing all our families a safe and lovely Memorial Day weekend. We will see our Leopards on Tuesday at 9:05.

In partnership,

-Mr. McComb

Adebola Adelene, Lutherville alum, George Washington Carver Literary Arts Class of 2025, and Distinguished Young Woman of Maryland visited 5th grade to read some of her original writing and encourage our young writers.

Sensory Garden Memorial for Bailee and Serenity Sensory Garden Memorial for Bailee and Serenity

On Friday we presented the families of Bailee and Serenity with gifts, remembrances, and the unveiling of our planned memorial - a sensory garden within our Learning Garden to allow all future Leopards to interact with a vibrant and engaging space that represents the spirit of these two girls. We are grateful to our partners at Caliday, who made a generous donation to this effort.

Carver Senior Jay Frisby created this stunning, beautiful portrait of Bailee and Serenity that captures their bright spirits and will bring love to all who pass by it in our display case.

Trout Release Field Trip Trout Release Field Trip

On Wednesday, our 3rd graders continued a long-standing Lutherville tradition of trout release. This year we used a new sight in Sparks along the NCR Trail, but the exploration and environmental science lessons that are a hallmark of the trip were central!
