School Spirit Days Next Week
Let’s add a little extra fun to the last two days before winter break! We will have themed dress-up days on Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23.
Please remember that students should dress appropriately for school, be able to participate safely in P.E. and recess, and avoid clothing that is offensive or distracting.
We can’t wait to see the fun outfits—have fun!
Monday - Mismatched OR Monochromatic: Wear the craziest patterns and styles OR wear all one color head to toe.
Tuesday - Old OR New: Wear something from a decade 1900's OR something extra trendy from today or the future.
Winter Break
Winter break is fast approaching! There will be no school for students December 24 through January 2.
School Rules!
Lunch Beverage Reminders
Soda and sugary beverages are not permitted during lunch at school. Students are encouraged to bring water, milk, or other approved drinks that support healthy choices and a positive learning environment. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Monday Morning News
Winter Weather Reminders!
Winter weather is here! Please send your child with a warm coat, hat, gloves, snowpants, boots, and any other necessary layers. Students will have recess every day unless it is raining or the "feels like" temperature drops below -5 degrees.
We will send students outside in the attire they bring to school and do not have attire to lend out.
If you your child does not have winter attire and you need assistance supplying it for them, please contact our school Social Worker, Jennifer Taylor at TaylorJ2@district279.org.
Also, don't forget to label each item with your child's name. This helps us return lost or misplaced belongings.

School Boundary Changes
While the 2025-26 school year is still young, Osseo Area Schools is already making preparations for a smooth transition to new attendance boundaries at the elementary and middle school levels for the fall of 2026. Families can double-check whether or not their household is impacted by using the 2026-27 search tool available via osseoschools.org/boundaries.
Families who have students impacted by next fall's attendance boundary changes recently received a letter with information about their new school and other pertinent details.
Families with 2026-27 fifth and eighth graders have been asked whether or not they’d like to utilize a Remain in Place option, where they could stay their final year at their current school with family-provided transportation. Eligible families (those with fifth and eighth graders next year) need to share their response to this option by Dec. 22 via a ParentVUE form.
Students relocating can expect a similar educational experience across district schools, with shared goals for academic rigor and a welcoming environment at all sites. Efforts have also been made to keep neighborhoods together as much as possible so that any school changes are made with familiar students.
These changes can be tough; however, every effort is being made to ensure families have great experiences at all schools. Special activities will be held starting next spring to welcome and support families relocating. Families are also welcome to check out school websites and/or schedule a tour in the weeks and months ahead.
The flexibility with this needed change is appreciated. Questions? Check out osseoschools.org/boundaries, or reach out to BetterFuture@district279.org or 763-391-8990.
