What a great way to start the 2024-25 academic year than with the naming of Temple University's next president, John Fry. A transformational leader who has used his vision to endhance our neighbor, Drexel University, as its president since 2010, Fry knows Philadelphia well, and also the value of a strong Division I athletics program.

On June 27, Temple Athletics was named a 2024 honoree of the Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. I would like to thank our student-athletes, coaches and staff for their commitment to giving back to the community as well as the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce for recognizing that commitment with this prestigious honor.

I would also like to acknowledge the leadership of Associate Athletics Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Student-Athlete Development Prince Moody and Coordinator of Leadership Operations Tia Withers for their hard work in coordinating these initiatives.

The Big 5 announced the men's and women's pod schedules last week. Our men will host Drexel on November 12 and travel to La Salle on November 30. The Big 5 Classic Championship will be held at the Wells Fargo Center on December 7.
