Week 29
Dear MUMS community,
We extend big thanks to our amazing student council and the entire school community for making Spirit Week this week such a fun event! In addition, we are grateful to MUMS staff who worked to ensure that any students who needed to make up the VTCAP assessments were able to do so. We are so close to being done with our testing for the school year, which is a pretty big deal!
Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade band and to Connor Young for your outstanding performance during the joint band concert with MUHS on Wednesday evening. Your hard work truly shone through. Additionally, we send a special thanks to the math department and to all who attended Math Night last night for supporting this new event.
Lastly, report cards were mailed to families mid-week and should arrive in mailboxes very soon if they haven’t already. Please reach out to your students’ teachers with any questions and thank you for supporting your students’ continued success.
We wish everyone a restful and enjoyable break next week!
Best,
Michaela Wisell ~ Principal

Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
Did you know that MUMS has a system for recognizing students who demonstrate aspects of the IB learner profile? These traits “go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them.” (ibo.org) This year, SO MANY of our students have been “caught in the act” of being brave, thinking deeply, showing genuine curiosity, and expressing concern for others, to name a few. Nominated students are publicly recognized over the loudspeaker and at assemblies, and are eligible to receive a range of prizes.Below is an example of a Tiger Paw. Congratulations to our many students who have received Tiger Paws already! MUMS staff members look forward to giving more before the end of the year!
💡Talk to your student: Have they received a Tiger Paw this year?
Where, when and why do they see students receiving them? What aspects of the learner profile does your student embody, and which are areas of growth?

Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
Shoreham/Cornwall bus caveats
Please use the "button" above to preview our ACSD bus routes.
Also please note a few caveats that impact students who ride Cornwall or Shoreham buses home.
Cornwall and Shoreham buses do not come to MUMS at pick-up time. Students who ride those buses must take a shuttle from MUMS to MUHS to meet their bus.
Cornwall students use the Bridport bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Cornwall bus at the High school to ride home.
Shoreham students use the Weybridge bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Shoreham bus at the High school to ride home.
