Parent Update 2026-2027
Watertown High School
Parent Update 9.4.26
What an awesome first week of school! The halls were packed with so much good energy, and it was so cool seeing everyone back together. The staff is super proud of how well all the students did jumping right into the new school year.
Huge shoutout to everyone for following the dress code guidelines this week! Everyone came looking great and ready to learn, which made the whole week go super smoothly. Thanks so much for helping make that happen!
Now that we got through week one, we really want to encourage all of our students to get involved! High school is way more fun when you join a club, play a sport, or go to games and events. Tell your student to check out some of the activities coming up and try something new this year.
Have a great long weekend and we can’t wait to see everyone back at WHS on Tuesday!

Reminders from the Associate Principals
WHS Student Cell Phone Policy Reminders
We appreciate your partnership and support as we promote good electronic device habits for students with their cell phones. Parents were supportive of students not having an added distraction in the classroom and teachers have reported higher levels of student engagement and success. Please help us reinforce this policy with your student by reviewing the student handbook language before the start of the school year. We are here to support your student and look forward to a fantastic 26-27 school year!
Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns at 920-262-7502.

Germany 2027
Give Your Child a Global Perspective: Germany 2027
We are excited to offer all WHS students a unique opportunity to expand their horizons through an educational travel experience to Germany in June of '27. (No knowledge of German required!)
Travel changes how young people see the world—and themselves. Beyond sights in the culturally rich areas of Munich, Salzburg and the Alps, this trip is designed to build real-world confidence, cultural literacy, and independence in a safe, structured environment.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
College & Career Readiness: Experiential learning and international travel stand out on college applications and scholarship essays, demonstrating curiosity and global awareness.
Hands-On Learning: History, language, and culture come alive outside the textbook, helping students make deeper connections to their school curriculum.
Personal Growth: Navigating new environments and a stay with a German family helps students build self-reliance, adaptability, and lifelong friendships.
Join Us for an Information Session We know an international trip is a significant investment and decision for your family. We are hosting a brief meeting to cover the complete itinerary, safety protocols, academic benefits, and flexible payment plans.
When: Sunday, September 20
Where: WHS, Room S274
Time: 6 p.m.
Can’t make the meeting? Click the link above to view the digital information packet. Contact Frau Schneider (schneiderk@mywusd.org) with any questions.

WHS Song of the Day
WHS held it's first Song of the Day Contest on Tuesday and for a special surprise we awarded two winners! Homeroom classrooms called in with the correct song title and artist, which was "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. Mrs. Strobel and Mr. Bartley's homeroom classes were treated to muffins/cookies! Congratulations!
Pep Rally
On Wednesday, we kicked off the new school year with an high-energy pep rally to officially welcome back our students and introduce the newest members of our staff. The energy was electric as student leaders showcased the wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities available for everyone to join this term. It set a fantastic, inclusive tone for the year ahead, encouraging students to jump in and get involved right from week one.
