Celebrate Middleton!
This week we get to celebrate our Middleton families! We are so grateful for you and your support whether that means you volunteer in the building or partner with us in your child’s education. The fact that you entrust us with your child(ren) to us each day is not something we take for granted. Whether it’s through email check-ins, volunteering, or joining us for conferences and events, thank you for all you do!
In addition to our families, it’s important to recognize the considerable time, effort and energy put forth by our incredible PAC and PAC Board Members. This group of parents is extremely dedicated to Middleton and enriching the experience for ALL students. Check out many of the activities and opportunities we’ve had thanks to PAC and our families!

Clubs and Enrichment
Family and Community Events
There are a lot of fun opportunities for staff/families to gather and build community throughout the year. Many are led by PAC and include parent volunteers to help the events run smoothly. These include: Back to School Night, Fun Run, Family Movie Night, The Middleton’s Got Talent Show, Carnival, Horseshoe Hop, Popcorn Fridays…and so much more!
School Support
Site Council
Our Site Council meets with our school team four times a year and helps with input and guidance regarding upcoming events or current school operations. They’re eager to learn more about Middleton and always come with great questions and contribute to the school-parent partnership in a meaningful way.
Family Movie Night
Middleton Family Movie Night: Friday, April 26th. We will be showing The Mario Movie. The Doors will open at 5:30 with a movie start time of 6:15 in the gym/cafeteria. The entrance will be around the side of the school under the covered area through the gym doors. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Entrance to the movie is free!! There will be water, pizza (including gluten free) and candy available for purchase of $1 each. Students can bring their own blankets and cozies to the movie. We look forward to seeing you there.
As an additional fundraiser for Middleton, Kona Ice will be here too. They will be open for business beginning at school dismissal until 5:30. No snow cones will be allowed in the building, but enjoyed outside.
Character Trait of the Month- Resilience
April's Character Trait of the Month was resilience. One student was selected from each classroom that demonstrated this trait all month long. We are so proud of our students and their ability to bounce back from challenges and tough times.
Walk, Bike, and Roll Event
Middleton is partnering with the City of Sherwood to host a Walk, Bike, and Roll event on May 8. This event is intended to promote physical activity, safe pedestrian and biking skills, concern for the environment, and draw attention to school speed limits. Students and families are encouraged to walk, bike, bus, skate, or scooter to school in the morning. We will have stickers and other giveaways for any students that travel to school in the ways listed above. There will be music, staff and city officials cheering, and a raffle for several bike helmets. The event will run from 7:15-7:55 and families are participate with their children.
Mileage Club
Mileage club encourages kids to experience walking/jogging/running in a non competitive environment. Students log laps during lunch recess and parents help to punch cards and motivate kids as they have fun with fitness. When the card is full, kids earn prizes that they can only get from Mileage Club! The best part of the club is that it is FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS!! On the days your student will be participating please have them wear appropriate shoes for this activity. Mileage club runs every Tuesday and Thursday during the month of May (May 3rd to May 28th) weather permitting.
The more the volunteers the better!! Grab your friends and check out our SignUp Genius and pick the day(s) that work for you.
Middleton 24-25 Class Placement Parent Input
As the end of the year approaches, we are starting to look ahead to next school year. The Middleton staff realizes that parents provide valuable information regarding their child’s placement. While we do not take requests for specific teachers, parent input will be carefully considered in the formation of classes for the 2023-2024 school year. Our class placement process is a collaborative one and our Placement Team takes into account a number of factors when forming classes: personalities, academic levels, learning styles, learning needs, and student compatibility. We look at each student as an individual and as a member of a diverse class. This information will be given careful consideration. Every effort will be made to provide the most appropriate educational setting for your child and to establish well-balanced classrooms. Please keep in mind that parent placement input is not a teacher request form. Any form turned in with a specific teacher’s name request will not be considered.
Please complete this survey no later than 5 pm on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
New App for Student Transportation: My Ride K-12
This spring, the Ride 360 app that our district uses to provide families with student transportation information will be replaced by a new app called My Ride K-12. This new app can be downloaded now in the Apple and Android app stores at the links below.
The Ride360 app will be discontinued during the month of May. In order to continue receiving up-to-date information about your student's bus transportation, you will need to download the My Ride K-12 app as soon as possible.
Once you have downloaded the new My Ride K-12 app, you will use your existing Ride360 log-in credentials to access the new app. No further sign-up is needed - all of your student's information, including route, will automatically transfer over to the new app!
For questions or assistance with the new My Ride K-12 app, please contact our Transportation Department at 503-825-5900 or by email at transport@sherwood.k12.or.us
PAC Board Elections
Each spring, we select the board members for next year’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). These are the parents who partner with the Middleton principal and staff to lead and promote volunteering, fundraising, activity and event coordination, and enrichment opportunities for the school. We'd appreciate it very much if you would take a moment to complete this quick online survey to help us finalize our board members for the 2024-2025 school year! Link to Middleton PAC Election Form
