Dear Viking Families,

Our students and staff are off to a great start for the second semester! It has been wonderful to see all of our students and staff back in the building. While visiting classrooms these past two days, I was able to hear some great stories about their winter break adventures. We took time over the past two days to review our S.R.R.F. expectations and classroom procedures so that all students have a fantastic second semester.

We have a lot of important items coming up over the next few weeks, see these below.

• Report cards come home with students on Monday, January 9th.
• Extended Day starts back up on Tuesday, January 10th from 3:15 - 5:15 PM

• PTO meeting on Tuesday, January 10th at 6:00 in the media center
• Team Time Celebration on Friday, January 13th. Grades 4, 5, and 6 will begin at 9:15 AM with our Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades starting at 1:45 PM. (If your student is receiving an award, their teacher will reach out to you.)

Monday, January 9th is School Resource Officer appreciation day, and we want to thank our School Resource Officers for all that they do!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Richey

Proud Principal of Valley Mills Elementary

Student Arrival: 8:15 AM

Tardy: 8:25 AM

Dismissal: 3:10 PM

All car riders should be dropped off and picked up in the back of the building. If your child is tardy, they need to be walked by an adult into the front of the building to be signed in.

All medications need to be brought into school by parents! You will need to provide the nurse with the prescription details and the medicine must be in the original container. The nurse has been in contact with students that are still in need of their required vaccinations for the 2022-2023 school year. Please help us in ensuring that your child is up to date with all of their vaccinations!

The MSD of Decatur Township is Student Invested, Community Connected. We prioritize Student learning, Safety and Customer Service, fostering a support system for our families.
