Volunteer vs Visitor

As the 2017-18 school year is coming to a close, we want to take a minute to thank all of the amazing volunteers across our school district! Our community has donated thousands of hours of their time to our schools and students this year, and we are tremendously grateful.

That being said, it's important to note the difference between a volunteer and visitor. Of course all visitors are welcome in our schools, whether you're dropping off lunch, meeting a teacher, or visiting for a school production. But, for all parents and community members who plan to volunteer in any capacity, it's a requirement that he/she sign up to do so through HelpCounter.

If you are going to be working with students you MUST register to be a volunteer. This includes working in the classroom, at field day, or chaperoning on a field trip. Volunteers are subject to background checks, and the process for approval can take up to a few days so make sure you do so well ahead of any event you volunteer. This is an important process as we continue to ensure our schools are safe and welcoming for all students.

Thank you for all that you do for our students!
