Happy Monday Pembroke Families!

It is hard to believe that October is coming to a close. October is ending with many amazing learning and community building activities. Last week our kindergarten classes had a field trip to Bowers Farm. They had a great time learning outside of Pembroke and did an amazing job showing their Pembroke Pride.

Looking ahead to this week, we will celebrate Halloween on Thursday. Please make sure to read the details below about the parade and classroom parties. Information below outlines expectations for parents who are joining the parade or volunteering for parties. Additionally, please make sure to read the guidelines for costumes. We will finish the week with our 2nd Pride Packs of the year!

Finally, this week on Tuesday, October 29th - The Parent Teacher Conference (PTC FAST sign up link) will come out in a stand alone email. Families will have until Monday, Nov 11th to sign up for conferences which will be held in person at school on November 13th and 14th.

We will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday, October 31st. We will have a Halloween parade beginning at 10:00 am outside. All parents and guardians are welcome to watch the parade. Halloween parties will follow at 10:30, only the number of volunteers needed to run stations will be able to attend parties. These volunteers will be determined ahead of time. This is a half day of school and students will be dismissed at 11:50. Please see the reminders about appropriate Halloween costumes below. At Pembroke we have students as young as 4 years old and want everyone to enjoy a family friendly day! Your child may be asked to remove a part of their costume if they do not meet the following requirements:

• No masks
• No blood or gore
• No weapons
• No costumes that represent violence or violent characters

It’s almost time for our Literati Book Fair! Mark your calendars for November 13th and 14th to visit and shop our book fair in-person from 12:15-7:30 PM. Students will visit the book fair during library media classes the week prior to make their own wish lists that will come home to you.

BPS is hosting a Veteran’s Day Brunch on November 14th. Pembroke will be collecting cards to be giving to Veterans at the brunch. You can use one of the card templates or make your own. We will have a box outside the office to collect cards through November 6th.

A reminder there is a half day on Thursday, October 31st. Kids Club is available with limited spaces. Sign up today using your schoolcareworks account.
